Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello chaps. I have a 2005 987 boxter S which has just started to make a new noise . With the engine on and air blower fan running I can hear a tinny rattling noise coming from the air vents almost like a fan blade scraping something . If I turn the engine off but leave the ignition on and the blower fan on , the noise is no longer there ? This has only just started in the hot weather ? Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

AC Compressor is on the fritz. When the engine is running, AC compressor and related belts are spinning. If a pulley bearing or mount bracket is worn, it will send a resonant vibration through the cabin ductwork.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks , I will investigate 👍
