BUT they do/did perform amazingly since I’m constantly switching wheels and each set gets less then 3k miles

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm taking care of my brother's 2003 Carrera 4 (cab). The car is driven in Boston. He specifically wants all-season tires.
The stock front size of 225/40-18 is readily available.
The stock rear size of 285/30-18 is not available as an all-season.
Seems like alternatives for the rear would be 265/35 or 275/35... what do folks recommend, or have experience with? Thanks!
(And, by the way, if you have a tire installer recommendation in Boston, please let me know).
Thanks!
In keeping with the recommendation the forum users gave me to go with slightly taller front tires to not do damage to the front viscous clutch in my C4S, but going wide as available on the rear, I went with Mich A/S 285/35s in the rear and 225/45s in the front. You can use a tire size calculator @"tiresize.com. These worked fine for me on the standard rims. As I remember, apparently the front should be within 3% taller than the rear with the 4 wheel drive.
Plus one for the Michelins and Tiresize.com was very useful. I went with the Michelin All Season 225/40 and 275/35 on 8" and 10" wheels almost two years ago, 5k miles so far. Mine is RWD so can't comment on the sizes but the Michelins are doing great. I think 275 is just right for the 10" rims and 265 might be a little stretched. I expect to get 20k on the back and hope for 30k on the front and I do rotate sids often. Costco frequently has $150 off on any four Michelins. My first choice were Conti DSW's if the Michelins weren't on sale.

I’m not going Michelin anymore
Thanks all for the feedback.
I ended up going with 235/40-18 in the front and 265/35-18 in the back.
Front outer diameter goes from 25.1 to 25.4.
Rear OD goes from 24.7 to 25.3.
