I'm surprised that adjusting the glass would cause a leak, clearly the adjustment set screws are there for a reason.

I guess I need to take the door card off and with the window up use a hose to try and detect the leak?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I usually keep my car covered, but it got rained on the other day, and when I drove it, I put the window down, then up, and it's wet, as if water is leaking through into the door. Drivers side is dry. The passenger door is the one I've had the card off to move the window slightly with the 2 bolts at the top of the door. I loosened them off to slide the window back a few mm, because there was a tiny wind leak at highway speeds. Obviously that movement caused the leak. Or not, but I know the inside of the door was dry when I had the card off previously. I'm surprised that adjusting the glass would cause a leak, clearly the adjustment set screws are there for a reason. Any suggestions? Visually the exterior window glass and the sealing material are dry. I guess I need to take the door card off and with the window up use a hose to try and detect the leak? Or given my lack of experience and the fact I already caused the leak, should I take it to a autoglass place? Thanks all!

Streaks on the exterior as per title are nothing to worry about as water gets past the bottom window seal enters the door space and leaves through drain holes at the bottom of the door. Drain holes are outward from the door seal so it won't drip into the cabin. The foam barrier seals the door space that gets wet from the door cards and thus from the interior.
