Is there a way for me to "test" the struts to without removing them to know if they might be the problem?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been chasing a steering wheel vibration that shows up around 70mph. At this point I've replaced almost all of the suspension components ( they needed doing anyway ), had the wheels balanced 3 times, aligned twice, and it's not much better. Today on a whim I took a look at the tires and noticed that the front driver side tire looks like it might have a "hop" in it. I grabbed a video of it here , is my mind playing tricks on me, or might this be the cause of what has been plaguing me for almost a year now?

Visually they look fine, not leaking. I suspect the previous owner added them at some point as they are Billstien B6 and the rears are the stock B4. The car has 137k on it, but I'm guessing the front struts don't. Is there a way for me to "test" the struts to without removing them to know if they might be the problem? Thanks for the help!

POST 4Original post

With the car on the ground, push down on the quarter panel and see if you can rock/bounce the car back and forth. With my blown shocks it would rock and roll. With the new PSS9s it only moves about 1/2 up and down. Hard to push down.

When you had your wheels (Tires?) balanced did you have them "Road Force" balanced????
