Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had to replace the left cover on my 996 c4s (Jack incident). I put those rubber inserts in where the knubs connect to the sill. I noticed after I got on, the top part of the rubbery inserts must have gone in the holes because I cant see the rubber between the cover and the sill. Its tight as can be, it lines up beautifully. My question is do I need to be concerned about the few that I cant see. I imagine the ones on the right side are likely hard as rocks so maybe it doesnt matter. If it does, Ill take off and try again. Thoughts?

POST 4Original post

Good idea adding the photos as I wasn't sure I pictured it correctly earlier. Personally I would redo it to make sure all the fixings are as they are supposed to be. The whole way of attaching the strip is to prevent rubbing of the cover against the paint. That would eventually wear through and then corrosion would start. I wouldn't want that.

I took off and put back on. I taped the rubber bushings in place. Came out pretty good
