Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Even though the car is 9 years old, but with a full Porsche warranty, my OPC replaced it, checked the rest of the system, and re-gassed it with no quibbles at all[

If its not, then check the warranty book, cos with the exception of the pipework, the majority of the system is covered[

if you get it replace make sure you use it all year round!!
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody had any problems with their air con not working, and if so does anybody know if it is covered with the opc warranty.
Thanks for any advice
have you used you air con through the year mate?
OPC will advise you to use it all year roudn to keep the system and the rubber lubricated and working.
the minute you stick it on for the hot weather then the whole system gives up and cracks.
unless it has imploded (which mine did) then it is hard ot get by the OPC as they see it as wear n tear. also a stone may have hit the air con rad due to placing and it is not covered by that either.
if you get it replace make sure you use it all year round!!
hope this helps, DC
Hi,
I had to fix mine recently and the most typical reason is the condensers that sit just in front of the rads, get hit by stones or more likely just a build up of stuff (leaves, cigerette butts, seeds). This stuff slowly corrodes the condenser till they leak and no cold air. The only way to check is to get a air-con specialist to test it and then replace them.
Replacement isn't that hard, it took me an afternoon to do.
But you will be looking at over £400 in parts!
Hope this helps

Aircon rads (condensers) are indeed vulnerable to impact and corrosion - the most likely thing you'll see is an oily stain over part of the rad if it is leaking. If replacements are required, then Euro Car Parts have them in stock for a big saving over OPC (I think I paid approx £150). Your independent should be able to change them easily and re-gas the system.

My condenser packed up about a month ago due to corrosion/wear and tear. Even though the car is 9 years old, but with a full Porsche warranty, my OPC replaced it, checked the rest of the system, and re-gassed it with no quibbles at all[

If you have the Porsche warranty, get down there and get it looked over, if its the condenser, get it replaced. If its not, then check the warranty book, cos with the exception of the pipework, the majority of the system is covered[
