My CDR-24 audio comes on when I start the car and then I can't turn it off, adjust volume, change stations, etc. It does not respond to any buttons. To the right of its screen a small light blinks red. Just turning car off and back on does not reboot radio. What is going on? Is there a reboot process to recover radio and its security code?

Mine used to do this every now and then. I'd turn on the car and get the " Porsche " display on the cdr, then nothing would happen. It would normally right itself if I shut the car off for about 30 seconds and then back on. Maybe a reset of the Can Bus would help you? I believe shutting the car off with the driver's side door open for like 2 minutes after resets it, IIRC. Mine started doing that shortly before I broke off a button, and I ended up replacing it with a pioneer appradio.

I had this happen on my 2008 CS. No amount of truning the car off/on, disconnecting the batter, etc. fixed the issue. Dealer replaced the CDR-24 (car was still under warranty).

there are TONs of threads on here about this. Temporary solution is to pull the fuse and replace it. Permanent solution is to swap out the head unit w/ something decent and a EuroMotorSpeed stereo surround (bezel).

I just found this thread after posting my similar experiences last week. What finally fixed mine was taking the ground cable off the battery for five minutes and then everything was gine again.
