Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know if Porsche made a carbon fiber Shelf Console Insert "Non-Smokers" for a 996 cab? It replaces the center console ash tray. I found the black one on our host’s web site but cannot find a carbon fiber unit. POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did find an aftermarket carbon fiber shelf insert from a company in England. The color is a little off from the OEM. Two photos for reference below. The cost . . . 137 pounds or $185

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is the info on the English business selling the carbon fiber non smoker shelf insert. At $185 the price seems reasonable considering the uniqueness of the part. I am concerned the black carbon fiber high gloss option will not match my existing interior. https://www.supertweaks.com/porsche/porsche-carbon-fibre/porsche-996-carbon-fibre/porsche-carrera-996-97-05-carbon-fibre-non-smoker-ashtray-storage-box

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is a different view of the area . . . it looks like the existing smokers shelf insert is slightly off color as compared to the rest of the console. Perhaps the English non smokers shelf will match. I’ve got an email out to the company, hopefully I can get some more photos.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
