Thanks Phil, i've done a u-turn and will be looking at getting the standard shock since these were the ones tested with Koni.

I did test drive the CG C4S demo they had with their kit.

I’ve owned my 2004 C4S since 2011 and first thing I did was go with the Solution IMS and switched out the M032 “Touring” standard on USA cars to ROW M030 which yes is stiffer….but eliminates bobbing(gr8 for Anthony Joshua…not so much in a 911)adds the 24mm (up from 21.5mm) sway bar …reduces body roll …that I dot use…see here on a tight right turn (on a course to remain nameless.) Very stable…quick…adding bigger sway bar this year so can only expect more gains.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
Having searched the forums i cant quite seem to get a confirmed answer as to whether or not the M030 suspension was standard on the 996 C4S? According to the original price list/option list , the C4S/Turbo came standard with 'Sports Chassis - 10mm lowered ' but there are some comments that this is the M030? Also to note, i dont have the 030 code in my service book sticker.
I am trying to refresh my springs but cant see the coloured dots on them now but im guessing i need the 'pink/blue' dots for the front springs and 'blue/white' dots for the rears? D911 also list a C4S rear spring with the coloured dots 'blue/red' ?!
Thank you,
Phil
I made the same mistake with my C4S. M030 isn't standard on a C4S (or 996TT as far as I'm aware). In fact I've never come across a C4S with M030 option. However as standard they were 10mm lower (as is the turbo) than standard. A good thing as many find the M030 suspension too hard for our roads.
Thank you for the replies.
Ok, i am just going to stick to the standard C4S springs, which i believe are below, married with the Koni active dampers -
99633353148504 - Rear C4S coil spring - identification 'blue / white'
99634353330504 - Front C4S coil spring - identification 'pink/ blue'
A previous owner converted my car to M030. This winter I will convert to something a little more compliant. It gives a nice stance but it's really quite unpleasant on bumpy roads - even after doing a full suspension arm re-fresh.
I refreshed the springs on my Turbo earlier this year along with Koni special actives. Then had a set up carried out at Center Gravity. They informed me M030 is standard on C4S and Turbo.
If its standard then I doubt it would show on your options sticker.
Anyway it’s a good setup and much more compliant than before, a little bit more front end bobbing but CG reckon the front Koni damper body has been designed to the standard damper length and therefore slightly longer than the M030 damper, so this could be why.
From the parts catalogue:
Front Standard:
Front X73 (sports):
Rear Standard (not sure why there are 2, maybe auto - cabrio is called out separately):
Rear Sports (X73)
Hope that's helpful. OPC should be able to disambiguate the rear springs. I've always found them cheaper that D911 too.
Dampers have a much bigger impact on ride quality than springs. I've not been in a car with the Koni's, but they seem well regarded.
How are you finding the ride over our poor UK roads over your old suspension with the Koni dampers? Did you look into the CG 996 suspension that they have developed?
I’m really pleased with it, as I said there is a little extra bobbing from the front but nothing too dramatic, they really are a lot more compliant around town. Gone are those big thumps through the cabin over rough stuff.
When pushing on a bit they up their game too, have faith and lean on them past that initial compliancy and you can start to feel them firm up with the extra energy being put into them.
I did test drive the CG C4S demo they had with their kit. Very impressive as a road car, I just didn’t have need for height adjustment and at the price point of the Koni’s I think they’re hard to beat.
Larkspeed seemed to be the cheapest.
At the moment Larkspeed are £859 for the Koni Active kit, which is the best price i can find.
Can i ask roughtly how much CG quoted for there C4S kit at the time?
Timely as I just bought the koni kit from larkspeed yesterday for my c4s
Without trying to divert this thread nor start a new one! I am trying to pair it with the H&R springs which should be compliant (25mm) but can't find the correct part. Can anyone give a suggestion? H&R website says 29466-1 and all other sites say 29385-1
Here are the H&R springs i believe you need for the 996 C4S.

Thanks Phil, i've done a u-turn and will be looking at getting the standard shock since these were the ones tested with Koni. My area is full of speed humps and pot holes think i'll value the ride comfort more (says my wife whispering in my ear..)
now to find a cheap price for the original springs.

47K on the clock…Fabspeed intake/mufflers….IPD COMP PLENUM/Gt3 TB…Sportec slotted rotors/ pads…Fiberwerks GTM aero kit…wearing her body color TurboTwist dancing shoes…I got my m030 kit somewhere your guys way in UK…cant remember at the moment…adjustable Konis so when on those bad roads you can go softer but you probably already pulled the trigger. Im late to this party.
