Wouldn't you need to strip out all of the car's ECUs plus all the hardware they control and replace with the cup versions?
Leading evidence: 'Replace with the cup versions' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace with the cup versions' (1 discussions). Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
I have my 996 Turbo up for sale currently because i want to get a manual. However, i am also considering keeping it and either swapping to a manual or going to a sequential.
I know this isn't the best idea in terms of future sales price but at the same time i know my car and i know where it is at.
So my question is, has anyone done this? Or does anyone have any conversion parts? I have seen a kit at £9000.
Thanks
that is indeed a question and a half, if you've got already restored sorted car
maybe look at something like this in the first instance

as back in the day all sequential shifters used to have a habit of munching the gear box.
I think mme do a paddle shift kit for a cup box. Could be adapted.

How?
The Tiptronic gearbox has a control unit that is integrated into the car's main ECU, which is integrated into the car's security ECU, including immobiliser and door locks etc.
Wouldn't you need to strip out all of the car's ECUs plus all the hardware they control and replace with the cup versions?
Essentially I've read that it would be multiples cheaper to buy a manual car and swap over the engine, suspension, brakes etc onto it from the sorted tiptronic car.
When he said swapping to a manual, I figured he meant the car. I don't think it's possible to fit a manual to a tip and you'd still need a clutch pedal for a sequential anyway.
Personally, I wouldn't fit straight gears to a road car, they are noisy.
The other problem with sequential boxes is the ratios tend to be pretty rubbish for road use
So is my sadev, still works on the road.
I've had a few sequentials, they drown out the engine. It's common to build the turbo box with straight cut gears, but it's not what I would use in a road car.
Paddleshift is geartronics.
