I forgot to mention that I also replaced the original speakers with similar because the originals had fallen apart.

Suggestion

I simply added some foam packing material under the speaker's magnet (ie:the center) that stopped the vibration without changing the speakers sound.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My left dash speaker has a rattle at certain (usually louder/bassier) sounds. I have switched out everything in the audio system and its still there. Interestingly, if I hold the speaker in its enclosure up at all out of the dash, it doesn't rattle at all, but as soon as I set it down in the dash it rattles. I have tried looking in there but nothing is obviously loose. Has anyone else experienced/solved this?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It’s a 2001 manual with the standard interior. Not sure what other details would be of note in this situation? More than happy to answer any questions if it helps me solve this though lol.

POST 4Original post

Years ago, mine (98 w/standard interior) did much the same thing. I simply added some foam packing material under the speaker's magnet (ie:the center) that stopped the vibration without changing the speakers sound.

POST 6Original post

I forgot to mention that I also replaced the original speakers with similar because the originals had fallen apart. (Paper was torn, ripped and some missing sections...honestly amazed that they made a sound at all....LOL)

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey yeah no it’s not the original speaker but the original speakers did the same thing. And yeah mine were intact but just blown haha. I haven’t tried the foam yet but I’ll need to give it a shot thanks

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
