you could try beep testing with multi meter to check the veins between the solders are still intact other than that i think you'd need to send it off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All 2 weeks ago my Porsche decided all on its own to own up the convertible roof and all the windows and set its own alarm off. Reading on line it pointed to water ingress under passenger side seat (UK model 2004) which provided to be correct. The carpets and the foot wells were full water on cloth sides of the car and carpets were soaked. On returning home following this auto open sequence from the car I was able to start it, open windows, indicate and all the usual stuff except for raising the roof. I then put the hard top roof on to make weather tight and planned on removing the interior. I have now removed all the seats centre plastic, carpets etc to allow me to dry the carpets out. Disconnected the battery and removed the unit under the seat (M534) to clean as had some water damage see photos, but remember car was running before as mentioned so assumed it was okay but wanted to clean to be sure. Before putting the carpets back in I have reconnected everything to make sure everything works before the carpets go back in. This has not worked, im able to turn on heater, windows, alarm, indicator, wipers etc all work but when I try to turn the car over nothing. Dashboard lights up as normal the oil check measure runs on dash as normal but no ignition? I have checked all plugs and connections all seem okay the seats are still out ( does this matter ?). I did forget to replace the tiptronic switch switch did show on the dash but on replacing it the message went away. I did disconnect the gear selection cable from the shift is there a switch on the gear box which senses the cable is in th wrong position? Other than that I am lost and don’t want the carpets back in until I can get it running. Please advise, help point me in the direction of what to look at next.

Just checked the M534 unit is the immobiliser unit from under passages seat and the car was running before I removed the interior and this unit.

POST 5Original post

that's the Ilt Relay Take the bolts out of the drivers seat and lean it back to remove the alarm control unit/immobilizer. There is a 10 amp fuse in the end where the connector plugs in, see if it's blow. but could be your immobilizer is not enabling the starter circuit.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Under the drivers seat I have a Motorola unit thought this was for the phone is the Motorola unit the alarm.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The M535 unit does have a 15amp fuse and all is good, this unit is under the passenger seat and the pics of its electronic boards are in the first part of this thread.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just reconnected battery and check phone and the car phone is receiving calls so that unit seems okay. I have also replace the key fob with a new battery and still not cracking over.

POST 10Original post

you need to test that circuit board it doesn't look good at all it may have lost continuity now it's dried out.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did visually check board and cleaned it with Kontakt chemie printed circuit board cleaner and then dried slowly with hair dryer. All solder joints looked okay after but I take your point. How do I get the unit tested? I believe this is the immobiliser and alarm board can it have lost comms to the key ? The key still opens and unlocks the car and arms the alarm

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Also on plugging in OBD reader no faults or errors to read, but it’s not an expensive unit

POST 13Original post

you could try beep testing with multi meter to check the veins between the solders are still intact other than that i think you'd need to send it off.
