Suspected cause

It's probably a harder car to sell than one might initially think, because you're selling to people who are going to be very budget conscious, they probably won't have lots more in the bank to fall back on, so it's a risky prospect and a broken Turbo on the driveway could spell ruin.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For that ££££ it’s buying a lot of car for the money and at first glance seems like a bargain

POST 3Original post

depends on how long their in house warranty is for, IIRC it was only 3 months but IMHO every Porsche specialist should sell a 6 month warranty. Note, Used cars in the UK are covered by implied warranties under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This means the car must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its intended purpose, and as described by the seller. If a fault arises within the first 30 days, you can typically return the car for a full refund or replacement. Between 30 days and six months, the dealer has one attempt to repair or replace the car, assuming the fault was present at the time of sale.

POST 4Original post

It's about to go past 100k miles, it seems to put a lot of people off. Turbos are expensive to fix if they break, but at £26k that's small money to buy into a 911 Porsche Turbo. It's probably a harder car to sell than one might initially think, because you're selling to people who are going to be very budget conscious, they probably won't have lots more in the bank to fall back on, so it's a risky prospect and a broken Turbo on the driveway could spell ruin. On the other hand, if you have plenty of money, you might not be looking at a budget 996 Turbo.

POST 5Original post

Dealer would have paid £22-23k for it? Or SOR and takes a 10% fee?

POST 6Original post

still Eposch are a known specialist and they should be selling good cars, better to buy from them then a random garage flogging a worthless RAC warranty

POST 7Original post

That could easily swallow £10,000 i suspect. Would need to see the underside. Suspension would need sorting as a minimum i suspect.

what @Slutters said, any buyer needs to see the underside of the car where you could easily spend £10-15k in a blink on suspension, exhaust and brake overhauls, alternatively it might be a performance bargain for the next 2 years needing just fuel and an annual service their PPI will need a detailed look, as you have to consider not the next 3 months but the next 2 years of that car
