Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Both ABS/PSM light continuously on and last week red brake light came on whilst driving, The red light went off after restarting the other lights stayed on and I drove home slowly. I’ve had diagnostic test resulting in code 4276,see attached. I’ve checked fuses etc as advised and sent the ABS unit to ECU testing and has come back as not faulty, anyone have any suggestions that what it could be.Thanks

POST 2Original post

you've got the correct diagnosis info Question, which 996 model is this for ? If it turns out to be an ABS fault, You'll need to remove the ABS control unit out of the valve block and sent it for a repair. Repair rather than replace, which is better value with the same outcome, this is an IF There are other checks to do, have a look at this thread 4276 Valve Relay fault...where is the relay? - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums 996 Turbo Forum - 4276 Valve Relay fault...where is the relay? - Hi Rennlist. I've gotten this fault twice. It gives me a bunch of idiot lights for PSM failure, ABS failure and Brake Distribution Warning. The first time was on the test drive I went around a corner on rough Seattle roads and... rennlist.com

POST 3Original post

the diagnostic manual is not talking about an electrical relay but a valve relay which is located in the ABS control unit. Look at the pin assignment of the plug on the ABs control unit.... On the wiring diagram you can see the valve relay which is in fault....Did you check fuse E9 (B9 can also be part of ABS) to start the troubleshooting?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you I will let you know how I get on.

POST 5Original post

I'd do a quick check on the plug that goes in to it that you have no corrosion in there. All things point to a power supply issue.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
