Has anybody changed the GTS suspension to something softer?

So I'll happily buy one, and then if it annoys me I'll look at changing the suspension.

Suggestion
With the roll bars on the firmer setting I find the ride too harsh for UK roads.

My suggestion, is check what I just told you with a sales guy who knows the product and confirm by testing a car with PDCC.

One thing to note, choose your own test route; the Porsche dealer routing I was taken on was clearly chosen for having the better road surface!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm considering getting another 992.1, was looking at an S, but the GTS seems good value considering the higher spec. I've previously owned the 991.1 and .2 GTS.
Everybody I've spoken to says the Coupe GTS is annoyingly stiff for everyday use. There are a couple of cars with the optional +10mm suspension but neither in a spec I like. I know the Targa GTS is softer sprung, but what about the convertible? From what I've found online they seemed to come with the 992 S suspension, but you could spec the -10mm?
Anybody using the convertible everyday? Too much for our roads?
From my experience of owning a GTS Coupe and Targa, the Coupe with the -10mm spoiled the car, harsh most of the time, but i bet it is hard to find a coupe with normal
the Targa was a pure joy, and one of my favourite cars from the lineup
Both the coupe and cab have the 10mm lowered ride height suspension as standard; higher ride i.e. softer springs was an option but I think you'll find most GTS cabs have the GTS lowered suspension. You really need to try one, as comfort is very subjective.
I just found the GTS spring rates online. Jeez, quite a bit stiffer than my old 992 S that had SPASM.
992 S standard - 32 front, 72 rear
992 S with SPASM - 45 front, 125 rear
992 GTS - 63 front, 152 rear

Out of interest, do you know how the 992 T compares to these?
I ve got the coupe variant and would describe it as unnecessarily and unpleasantly firm. To the point where, on typical UK B-roads, I can cover ground faster in a 2.5 tonne EV SUV with significantly less power and significantly more weight. The suspension and ride quality is dogs
t, frankly. My wife hates the car. Despite that, I generally still like and enjoy the car as a whole and the -10mm does make it look the nuts.

I’m pretty sure the T is the same as the S with SPASM. I had both and they felt the same.
I have a 2023 4 GTS Cab with PASM (delete -10mm). Superb ride on crappy UK roads - so glad I optioned it in. PS: I was in Germany with the car for 2 years on superb roads and never found wanting on their roads, in fact at +140mph the PASM, according to German drivers who have driven both suspension set ups, improves high speed driving as the SPASM is too fidgety at high speed on the autobahn.
I have a 992.1 GTS Coupe and it would be way too firm for me to use every day.
Otherwise, I love the car and have had from new. What could be done to soften the suspension and at what cost?
Yes, the 992.1 GTS with the Sports PASM (-10mm) has the Helper Springs, and same suspension setup as the 992 Turbo/S. It is fairly stiff on the roads but still better than the standard suspension on my previous E92 M3 and F82 M4 Competition on UK Roads.
It's great on Track though, taken it around Donington Park, Spa Francorchamps and Nurburgring and loved the handling, especially combined with the Rear Wheel Steering. Turn in was so sharp and on point.
Does anyone have a comparison with 992 GT3 spring rates? Would be keen to know the difference.
I ve spent about 2 years in each of the following which I ve ranked from hardest to softest based on my recollection and the 992.1GTS is the only one that I d say now looking back was probably unacceptable for day to day road use in South East. Whilst all firmly sprung this felt the least settled at town speeds. On faster roads much less in it (and Touring probably best of the lot then). All manual FWIW.

Has anybody changed the GTS suspension to something softer?
From the descriptions above it would be far too stiff for my everyday use. Can't believe it's stiffer than a GT4 lol. Having said that I found the GT4 tolerable, but I wouldn't want to go stiffer.
PDCC:
I own a 992.1 C4 GTS. My car has the optional PDCC and rear wheel steer (I think these options come combined, as in you can't order one without the other which is why I mention it). PDCC - basically PASM implemented on the roll bars as opposed to just the dampers - does actually make the car significantly more supple. With the roll bars on the firmer setting I find the ride too harsh for UK roads. So 100% of the time on UK roads the car goes around with the PDCC in comfort mode. I think I remember my sales guy telling me that cars without PDCC are firmer than cars with PDCC.
My suggestion, is check what I just told you with a sales guy who knows the product and confirm by testing a car with PDCC.
I find my car quite comfortable as a daily, but then you opinion may vary according to you point of reference (what you've been driving previously) and your expectations.
Or just buy a Dakar! LOLs.
Re: PDCC and RWS. My 2023 992.1 4 GTS Cab has RWS, delete -10mm and does not have PDCC. You can have all combos. I have also driven a 992.2 GTS with SPASM, but on a track that was like a billiard table. To note, if you have -10mm the gap from tyre to wheel arch is not the same all around. It is lower at the top, but remains wider at the sides of the arches. Rennlist is a better source than any OPC.
Yeah, damping rates make more of a difference.
Turn the PASM on/off shows this perfectly.
I think DSC have their controller coming for the 992 soon. That will allow you to get the car far more comfy and make sport properly usable if it anything like the 997 and 991 units.
Plus it reacts far quicker to than the Porsche unit so makes handling much tighter while making it more compliant at the same time.
It is a proper game changer.

I had 992.1 GTS Cab for 2 years as a daily 25k miles. I made the mistake of going with the -10mm option which made it right on the limit of firmness comfort wise. The stock car without this option is much better suited for road use. If i was going to track it though would 100% go with the -10mm option.

Update.
I had an extended drive in a 992.1 Coupe GTS yesterday. Definitely on the limit of how stiff a road focused car should be. But it felt great. Turn in was fantastic and even at low speeds I felt like I was in a car that meant business. I imagine if you tried to drive it really fast on the road it would be a handful, but that's not something I do.
Ideally I'd like one with the SPASM delete, but the chances of me getting one in a spec I like are pretty low. So I'll happily buy one, and then if it annoys me I'll look at changing the suspension.

What kind of spec are you looking for? Mine’s a good spec and has 2+ years of warranty, but it’s a manual. I quite fancy trying a 4S.

Try one with PDCC. It does not turn the car into a 7-series, but it does make a significant difference. I drove one car with and one without before buying and the difference is noticeable to ride quality. I think people are sleeping on this option, not sure if it is just a gimmick.
My experience of the 992.1 GTS mirrors most of the views above.
Had one on extended loan whilst my then .1 ‘S’ was in maintenance.
I found the ride noticeably harsher and less compliant. The GTS was more fidgety on roads I regularly enjoy in more comfort.
Of course, the real issue is the state of UK roads - poorly surfaced, pot holes, badly maintained, noisy asphalt, lack of investment……..
Not a fan of PDCC. Not sure if it improves the ride. It certainly reduces the traditional feel of weight transfer in harder cornering, but that’s always been one of the 911’s nicer characteristics, that conveys what the chassis is doing to the driver.
I should add that I found the .1 ‘T’ more tolerant than the GTS but still not as good as the ‘S’, and I’d imagine the base model would have the best (UK) ride comfort of all.
