Does anyone know if the Logbook feature can be added to
PCM
if not originally equiped with it? I hadn't really thought about it when I ordered my pet back in October '05, but it would simplify my record keeping for work milage, and I like the idea of an interface i can use with my pda. greg
There is a TSB out that describes what is needed to add this to your Cayman. Here is an excerpt

Greg - please keep us posted on this! I'm also wondering about other 'advanced' features found in the Extended
PCM
option.
Thanks,

My salesman specifically talked me out of getting the "Extended" navigation as it is only useful if you are going off the map. Are you planning on taking the CS off the map or off-road to go check out some cacti?
Much of Canada (north parts) are "off the map". And for those fast, fun Porsche breakfast runs on Sunday mornings, it would be cool to 'save' the route for later in the year.
Actually, several of the roads I travel on a regular basis are new enough that they are "off map", and I, too, wanted the extended nav because of experience we had with my wife's 2004 Cayennet Turbo w/ nav, but the sales manager said there was no reason to get the extended nav except for four wheeling. Unfortunately, I find he was wrong. What I'm really interested in now, though, is the logbook feature, which would better allow me to keep track of my business vs personal milage, and would also allow me to comunicate between my treo and my car. I'll let you know what I find out. Greg
Where I live, there are very few places that are either undeveloped or unprotected and thus will remain roadless. Assuming I keep this car for many years, I assume I will be able to get a new DVD with any new roads.
