Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2000 boxster s. It has been having a strange issue. The speedometer doesn't work and then every 3-ish days it works, and then after about 10 minutes of driving it turns off. When it turns off the ABS light immediately comes on. Then when I turn the car off and back on, the TC and Spoiler lights come on, which makes sense because they are both based on wheel speed. I have tried a few things. Replaced the ABS sensors for all 4 wheels. Replaced the gauge cluster. I suspect it is coming from the ABS module but based on forums etc most people do not have the no speedo issue. Error code is p0501 for the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), indicating that its signal is out of the expected range or performing erratically. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
