Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

but we able to adjust the foglight to stay on for 45 seconds?

Also, they are now checking into why the radio/cd display has no adjustment for the light intensity...in the daylight it is practically invisible, and pretty dim at night also.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You will probably notice several features which you have become accustomed to - will not be available on your
Cayman
. Even though the owner's manual instructs that the windows can be raised and lowered with the key from outside the vehicle...I have confirmed with my Porsche service department, that this feature is not available in the
Cayman S
. Also, they are now checking into why the radio/cd display has no adjustment for the light intensity...in the daylight it is practically invisible, and pretty dim at night also. There is, however,a lighting feature -a click on the light knob called 'Welcome Home', which will leave your parking/fog lights on for 45 seconds or so after parking and exiting the vehicle...for theladies, I suppose. Go figure!

so it did not turn the headlight off by itself? but we able to adjust the foglight to stay on for 45 seconds?
that's weird. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/crazy.gif
Seems like the Japanese auto makers have spoiled the world. I am glad that Porsche chooses not to load their cars with extra electronics, in fact I wish that the windows were crank up.I guess I just love true sports cars, I'll enjoy luxury cars when I'm over 80.
The lights will click down to parking lights and slowly drain the
battery
.
Mmmm, maybe the cars should even drive themselves..........That would be easier.
I timed it an it takes 0.2478 seconds to switch the lights on and off......
Sorry for being facetious..

About the only thing that causes wear on the expensive bi-xenon lights is excessively turning them on and off - such as can happen with sensors. My guess is that is why
headlights
are just not on the circuit - even though interior lights, etc are. Anyone know?
My wife's new Golf GTI has auto lights. She is getting really miffed with peoplesaying ' you've left your lights on love' She now switches them off manually.
......and I have also seen the feature not work with people coming back to their cars hours later with dead batteries.
I'm definitely not an electronics junkie and tend to shy away from cars with them.
A
Toyota
sedan has automatic lights, but lousy brakes & handling.
A Porsche has no automatic lights, but great brakes & handling.
Different engineering priorities?
Go figure!
I wasn't talking about day time running lights like somebody mentioned. I was talking about a sensor many cars have on the dashboard used to sense outside light and turn headlightson and off based on the level of available lighting. To meit's convenient as hell. It's awesome driving into a dark parking deck or tunnel and your lights come right on.

Who are you kidding?Xenons,
PCM
, power windows, auto dimming mirrors, key-less entry, auto wipers, cruise control,
PASM
, accelerometers,
Sports Chrono
, PSM,climate control,
Bose
, computerized engine management, and the list goes on and on...
As stated by RichD, I have no problem raising/lowering windows from outside my car, and the
PCM
does have automatic light level sensors and adjusts the intensity automatically when "automatic" default display setting is selected. This is particularly noticable when it's cold out and the unit is sluggish at adjusting. Greg
