If you can find my previous post I know who not to use but Cavendish Porsche in long Eaton replaced and got my 996 running when a repair failed to work.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have therefore chased ECUtech of somerset who attempted the repair in the first place who were from the start very communicative and pleasant, even offered remote advice when it did not work.
I used a company a few years ago called
https://www.cartechelectronics.com/
I sent my ecu to them and they copied all software and data over to a replacement unit.
When I googled for this service a few years I didn’t get a lot of hits but a recent google suggests a lot of companies.
Hi
If you can find my previous post I know who not to use but Cavendish Porsche in long Eaton replaced and got my 996 running when a repair failed to work.
But after 6 months the story so far, I ended up sending the car to cavendish Porsche in long Eaton, they had the car up and running in two days.
ECU broken and was not repaired they replace the unit with a brand new porches unit and broom the car started.
I have therefore chased ECUtech of somerset who attempted the repair in the first place who were from the start very communicative and pleasant, even offered remote advice when it did not work. They then of course slowed down in the comms when the device did not work and after months of chasing have today refused a refund and proclaim I should have sent it back to them to look at again instead of repairing it at Porsche.
I have found them to be very disingenuous at the end but promised the world at the start.
I am happy to share all my communications with this company to prove this is not a rant but a genuine message that should be passed on to make other Porsche owners to be aware.
It has been noted in a previous post from another member in the group that my ECU would not be repaired on receiving it this is the stance ECUtech Somerset should have had instead of take the £563 fee which did not include the inspection to see if it could be completed

Hi
The water run off channels behind the rear panels were blocked and unknowingly filled to the point that it soaked the carpets and water egress into the ECU under the passenger seat.
Others on this site looked at pictures and also said no chance of fixing
Guy made it sound like he does it all the time repairs many of them and had 4 in for repair and at £546 half the price of a new one without the hassle of potentially recode DME and ignition key, in insight should have got the new unit
In my case, with a different company, they simply took the software and settings, and applied it to another unit so it was plug and play. They kept my old damaged unit and I assume they fixed it.
