One needs only to check the technical bulletins uploaded in the Files section here to see that the CD changer is NOT pre-wired and requires your dealership to install some wiring in addtion to the changer itself.

Just curious. If so, that would be great so all I needed is the changer itself. Also is the system (Sound package plus / non BOSE)compatible with aftermarket CD Changer? If I am not mistaken, I remember a while ago most Germans automobile are compatible with Alpine CD Changer. Thanks.

I'm not sure if it is pre wired but I know it isn't compatible with anything aftermarket CD changer that I could find. Porsche uses the MOST interface which nobody supports in aftermarket. I was kind of pissed that the stupid CD changer doesn't even play MP3s.

A Cayman owner previously reported here that the Cayman - without the CD-Changer - had the MOST fiberinstalled but that the electrical wiring was not installed.

Yup, K-man S and mpollard are right - you can't just buy the changer and plug it in.
