Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just picked a 996 convertible with a few little problems (so far) 1st. When the roofs down the drivers side rear window doesn't go up like the passenger side does, when it's up it works fine 2nd. Also the drivers side window drops a little to open but the goes back when you let go of the handle, makes closing the door tricky. 3rd. The cigarette doesn't work . Thanks in advance Rusd

POST 2Original post

1st is very normal 2nd need another can owner to confirm @Alex 3rd check the fuses, it's D5 that will need replscing

POST 3Original post

2nd is the micro-switch on the door lock mechanism. Only solution is to fit a new door lock mechanism. Mega expensive for a genuine Porsche one, but they're a generic part in the VAG so a VW one does the job. Because that microswitch doesn't work, the car thinks the door is shut all the time, I'm guessing the interior lights also don't come on when the door opens, but do with the passenger side. Can get them on eBay for £25: PORSCHE 911 (996) & BOXSTER (986) FRONT RIGHT DRIVERS CENTRAL DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR | eBay UK BRAND NEW CENTRAL DOOR LOCK. www.ebay.co.uk

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
