Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As i've been working my way around the car, i noticed that there is evidence of a dried coolant on the coolant cap, but no signs of any leaking or drips. Checking the part number, it has been updated to the preferred 04 cap at sometime in its life, but no idea when - do these updated caps have a shelf life and is it worth replacing? For £25 it seems like sensible preventive maintenance, or i may be over thinking it!

POST 2Original post

Overthinking probably. First thing to check should be cooling fans both work on both speeds, then monitor for levels/leaks

Yes, fans working fine, no obvious leaks and coolant level good - will keep an eye on it
