Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all

Thread '996 Turbo Project! *** 10 years later update! *Update 3rd May*'

Hi guys
After moving on from my Single 6 Supra i brought my dream car, a 996 Turbo with 46,000M in fantastic condition.
Got a few pictures for you lot and this will serve as an ongoing history of the car.
Anyway here she is:
I gave her a full service and changed the CD player for something a little more modern.
Next up was the brakes, the lacquer was starting to peel of the calipers and looked a bit messy, so i set to work.
I sent away the calipers and heres what came...

Well despite all the work i am looking to sell it or PX.
The reason being i have done 2 track evenings in the car now but just cannot 'gel' with the tip box.
On the road it is fantastic and exactly the right choice to my mind.
So, lets not mess around, i am looking for a 996 turbo or 997 turbo but in manual.
Open to PX or selling it but i need to work out where i should be pricing it and as a few of you watch the market a lot closer than me i figured i would ask.

2002 996 Turbo Tip
51k miles
Previous cat D
I would say its potentially one of the best 'sorted' 996 turbos available, no rusty bolts/nuts. No seized up turbos or actuators. No risk of coolant fittings popping out. All new suspension with a genuine proper upgraded shocks.
In the last 2 months it has had:
£12,500 spent on it (Just in parts)
Full major service, drive belt, spark plugs, air filer, oil filter, water pump, cabin filter
All coolant lines welded (All 8..) along with coolant pipes replaced where needed
All new seals on rebuild along with vac chamber.
Tip gearbox service, new filter and oil
Both turbos replaced with all new lines and check valves
2 new wheel bearings at the front
Every single suspension part replaced. All top arms at the back, all cofins front and back along with new bolts.
Brand new Ohlins road and track adjustable suspension.
Full alignment to OE specs by Precision Porsche
Only issues left with the car is the AC is not great.
I was thinking around £32-33? To reflect the AC and the Cat D?
Few pics:
Thanks
It’s a tough one to value on one hand the money spent on parts makes it a great buy with the cat D taking a bit of the gloss off. The price point you have suggested seems a fair price tbh
If I was buying a Cat D car I would want plenty of info on the damage and how it was repaired, it may be worth having a report done on the repair to mitigate the inevitable questions.
I also have the turbo with Tiptronic box and I just couldn’t got on with the buttons. I converted it to paddle shift, this made a huge difference and so much more enjoyable to drive. I was surprised it made so much difference but it did. The conversion is easy enough to do - see threads on here on how to do it. I also got the wheel recovered, removing the old buttons. Worth trying before you go down the route of swapping to a manual
