Am having problems with what sounds like a loose or faulty speaker but only with voices or high treble and the sat nav voice when one of the speakers in the central dash appears to vibrate. Heavy rock music not a problem. Anyone suggest what the problem may be or having similar issues.
Wot no hi fi buffs out there /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/cry_smile.gifThought someone would tell me its a woofer or a tweater problem, a loose screw or a dysfunctional dingle dongle cone thingymabob /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif. Still, suppose I should just leave the sound system and sat nav off and listen to the engine. Then again perhaps I should take it back to the dealer to resolve.
I haven't had the problem, but if I did I would immediately take it to the dealer and have them fix it. I wouldn't want to try and fix this myself and then get blamed for the problem, nor would I want to live with this problem. Be sure the report on the resolution of what appears to be a chronic problem that is not going to heal itself.
As long as you can recreate the problem, go to the dealer and have them look into it.
Will take a run through to the dealership over the next few days or so and let you know the findings. Probably my eclectic music choice.
dwreid,
I too get a torn speaker type buzz sound when I listen to talk radio, but I have not taken my car in because it does not happen on every station. Glad to hear I'm not the only one, but it does raise the question of what is the cause of the distortion if it is not a defective speaker? If it was the speaker, it would act up on all stations.
If you do take it in, I will be interested to hear what they say.

Car booked in with dealer to investigate on 17 May. They said they will resolve under the warranty. Will let you know outcome.
Also noticed that if the Treble is set on the high end the S's in lyrics or conversation get scratchy. Brought the treb down to a +3 or so and it went away.
It definitly sounds like a tweeter issue. I have my car at a custom stereo place now. I am changing the speakers, amp, and putting in a sub in the back. I looked at the stock speakers and they are like transister radio speakers. Maybe they cost Porsche about $2.00 each. real crap. So, I wouldn't be surprised.
Problem was a faulty speaker which they happily changed under warranty. Although not connected to the speaker issue they also replaced the multifunction steering wheel at the same time as the scroll wheel was temperamental. They had to hold on to my car overnight while awaiting parts and gave me a new 911 Carrera S to play with for a couple of days for the inconvenience. They probably hoped I'd be interested in upgrading on my return but have to say that now having had the chance to drive a 911 properly for a couple of days I'm happier with my Cayman S.
