Having some problems with the EVAP system on my 2003 4S, occasionally it won’t start when warm, also after a run when switched off there is a noise from the fuel filler area like it’s taking in or letting out air a short droning sound, put a tester on it P0441 flashed up but no CEL on, I’ve put a new fuel cap on it but hasn’t made any difference, was looking at the purge valve on top of the engine, disconnected the input hose when engine was warm and the valve seems to pulse every 15-20 seconds, is this right?

I’ve changed the purge valve in the engine bay this evening, will see over the next few days if it’s cured it, did test the old valve with a pair of small jumper cables off the battery, it would click 3-4 times then stop, so I’m thinking it maybe the culprit.
