Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyway, I'm reluctant to pay nigh on £500 for a new motor and I've also been struggling to find a 2nd hand one for under £100........until I stumbled on a replacement motor on amazon and once I checked out all the part numbers it replaced, I noticed it's...

The sunroof, I’m without the motor anyways, so is it as simple as getting a broken unit and using the cog mechanism, I’d have to see it to think of a way to do it.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all,
In the process of completely rebuilding a 996 that I picked up as a bare shell.
Has anyone tried to do a manual sunroof or manual door windows on the 996?
Thanks
I guess the question is ‘why’? Certainly for the windows.
The sunroof I can see a justification, and I imagine it’s easier to convert the sunroof to manual wind, because it has the function as an emergency feature already.
The windows is probably not possible without a complete re-design.
Everything is stripped currently and I’ve seen that it was done on the 964 as a conversion kit.
I have a parts car (Boxster) which I think are the same so I could just fit them, but always liked the manual windows!

My old TT never dropped the windows and it wasn’t that much of a pain, I’ll have a think, maybe something to consider if the actuators ever go.
Sunroof is more of a plan as I love a good manual sun roof!
and dint forget a lot of these window parts are made by VAG
Thread 'All 996/986 window regulator motor - huge cost saving.'

I'm currently having an issue with my driver's side window. The other month the regulator failed so I replaced it. Now the window doesn't drop as it should when you open the door. Upon further investigation the issue seems to be with the motor, which is strange because everything worked perfectly fine before the regulator cable snapped.
