I had to replace a wheel but could only find a et40 that matched so i put an 8mm spacer on the other side.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there, Ive ran through some searches but theres mixed info regarding 996.2 and 996.1 offsets. I currently have a set of wheels in 19x8.5 +50 and 19x10 +45. Will this fit a 2000 996.2 or will I need to roll fenders? If they do fit then what tire size recommendation? Also, is there any modification to alignment settings? The suspension on the car currently is bilstein b8 and H&R springs. Thanks in advance!

They will not your rear needs to be closer to et60
if they do fit it will tough to get bigger then 265/30/19 rears to fit right maybe with some suspension playing 275
Im guessing at that negative camber then Id have to get some aftermarket camber arms? I have 265/35/19 tires on them at the moment since the wheels came off a Cayman S.
I'm not sure about 19's I'm assuming all you will need is a lower profile tire. As long as your overall diameter is about the same as a factory 18" setup ....and
I'm running the factory 18 x 10" 65 et with a 21mm spacer. Which is in effect a 44mm offset and I'm fine. On HR lowering springs
Now that i think about it the 19x10's that came with the car were an et48 and they worked with -2* camber. I had to replace a wheel but could only find a et40 that matched so i put an 8mm spacer on the other side. This is when i increased to -2.5* and they still rubbed. Et45 with a 265 might work fine?
Well, the hard part is different brand tires measure differently for the same tire size. I currently have Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on. Guess Im going to get the fenders rolled also to be safe since the 996.1 narrow body clearance is less than 996.2 narrow body.
All the information you ever want for most any tire is on Tire Rack. Just study them and choose wisely. A 45 et with a 10" wide wheel is NOT a problem on a 996.1 with a stock width tire. Just make sure your overall dimension is similar to the 17" or 18" stock setup.
