Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all. I have a 996 C2 x51 but thinking about trading for a Turbo S if possible. My ideal spec would be original, manual, coupe, sub 30k miles. I’ve had a good look around but I’m beginning to wonder if there are any left…. Thoughts? My C2 for good measure….

Your dreams have been answered! https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2005-porsche-911-996-turbo-s-11

POST 3Original post

What do we think that'll go for ? You've got to factor in the buyers premium of 7.2% It's got to be a £65k car but that makes it a £70k car.

Thanks!

POST 5Original post

Would you consider a 'regular' Turbo with X50 pack and carbon ceramic brakes as options? My understanding that the 'S' was fundamentally a set of options on the Turbo with that 'S' badge added on. You might get mechanically the same car, just without the badge.

I’ve been tempted by a few, many more available but holding out for an S at the moment

Agree, it must end up around the £70K mark at which point I'd probably have one eye on a GT2 instead... Scope creep! Here's one similar mileage and in the best colour too https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1872300

POST 8Original post

I’ve just bought a non S turbo, when I was researching it seemed that the bigger turbos on the S were a little more laggy, so my logic was smaller turbos and a light remap to circa 480 bhp was a really nice compromise

Did someone say GT2? https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2003-porsche-911-996-gt2-5

POST 14Original post

That GT2 is one hell of a car but tbh you can have heaps of fun in a standard 996 turbo

POST 15Original post

It looks like someone from Aberdeen is selling off a collection , there's some very nice cars he's parting with. Agreed about GT2 , there was that Black Turbo sold recently for high £20ks , pull out the front diff , add some suspension and tear out some interior to lighten it and you've got 98% GT2 for £40k with miles on you don't need to worry about.
