I'm quite interested in having a ducktail for my 987. With the lowering springs on the car, I think the best thing to balance out the aesthetics would be a tasteful ducktail for the car. I know there is the GFWY/PepperPlayWorks ducktail, and I believe its a great option. However, I would like to know if there are more options like the GettyDesign ducktail - a complete spoiler replacement that can disable the active aero on the car rather than a piece of plastic/fiberglass that is 3M'ed onto the existing spoiler like the PepperPlayWorks ducktail. I would love for the aero to be more functional than aesthetic, without springing for a
GT4
wing or the Verus swanneck.
The major problem is that Getty's site has now been down for a few months and their Instagram hasn't had a new post in years, leading me to believe they're out of business. If someone here has the skillset and equipment to fabricate one please consider me interested as a test car!
They are nice and a good look on a
Boxster
but don't know anyone to make them, not in this time. Years ago yes.
Best looking wing I've found, that is well made and slips over the factory spoiler is Gary Foo. There's a few fitment threads if you search GF987
Ducktail for Porsche Cayman 987
Retro inspired ducktail designed for the Porsche Cayman 987.1 and 987.2 because it ain't a Porsche till it has a ducktail.

As per the thread starter I'm well aware of the GFWY/PepperPlayWorks ducktail, haha. Looking for a full spoiler replacement.
Through a complete stroke of luck I ended up connecting with someone associated with Vali Motorsports, and I was able to secure their 987 ducktail, which as far as I understand is a pretty rare piece. Hopefully it'll help set the car apart. Excited to move forward with this project and get it installed ASAP.
The ducktail has been acquired! It'll be paint-matched and likely installed by the end of December if all goes well. Extremely excited to pair this mod with the E88s that are getting dressed up and built for the 987. Having a debate with getting the E88s done in liquid gold or BBS gold. Really happy with this unit as it is a complete replacement and code-out of the OEM spoiler and will not raise at 75mph as the original and GF987 ducktails do. I like making functional modfications to my cars and although this isn't as functional as a Verus swan neck wing it will add a couple pounds of downforce over the OEM active spoiler.
where did you end up sourcing it from?
The new rennline carbon spoiler tickles my fancy more than the others.
This came out after I bought my piece, it's a nice bit but I'm not a huge fan of exposed CF and the aero isn't as aggressive or functional as the piece I managed to snag from Vali.
I've actually never seen an offroad
Cayman
this is insane, looks like a riff off the Dakar
