Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

My 2012 CS's tail lights were getting long in the tooth, a little faded, and water-spotted. Quotes for restoring them were around $3-400, but I wanted to see about a more modern look. After just a couple reviews and figuring 'what the hell', I pulled the trigger on the ACANII 718-style LED lights available on Amazon for $565/pr. Install was very-straightforward. I watched this quick video on youtube beforehand and set to work. Before tightening everything up, make sure to check that they are working properly and not throwing any codes. Here are some before/after pics and a quick videos showing the turn signals. Just wanted to throw a quick thread together for reference if anyone is considering taking the plunge. Well worth it and a nice, modernized look to the 12 year old car!

Nice...I was just noticing mine are all checked and looking funky.... What do brake lights look like??? May just have to add to my to do list!

POST 3Original post

Interesting. I wouldn't normally consider Amazon parts for my Boxster , but these look to be good quality and do update the looks. They're so easy to remove that swapping back to stock is easy and quick.

POST 4Original post

As one of my lights was totally cracked and the brand-new URO (OEM provider I think) replacements were delaminating right out of the box from prolonged exposure to the plastic wrap packaging, I did the same about 18 months ago with a different brand -- but likely from the same factory. Really happy with them. No regrets here and nice work on your end. Great post.

POST 5Original post

These appear to be identical and about $100 less expensive: https://a.co/d/6Z2i9Jj - Also from Amazon..

POST 6Original post

These look decent. I don't need the 781 look per-se. My bigger issue is visibility - the turn indicators look rather small, and look like they'd be hidden beyond the brake lights. Don't get me wrong, they look cool, but I want more visibility in general, also for the turn signals. Honestly, I'd like more side visibility as well, because as we know, we only get two flashes to indicate the car doors locked... and nothing on the side flashes (and the existing bulbs are not that bright). I've been thinking of putting in a bright LED bulb for the turns instead. (Yes, I've thought about the mods4cars adapter as well... but that's expensive for basically just the chirp - the other options aren't that big on my list or already exist on the car (eg auto lock when driving)) I do like the idea of replacing lights like this... they look nice... and a lower-cost option is always welcome to my cheapness!

POST 7Original post

I was worried these would look “sunken in” on a black 987, but they actually look a bit better than I thought.
