Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've had a good look around and can only find them used on Turbos.
Leading evidence: 'Use on turbos' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use on turbos' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

In the next couple of months I'm going to swap out my old and almost on the verge of collapsing Dansk exhaust.... It's likely I'll be going with Kline. But I cant find any feedback from 996 C2/4 owners.
So I'm putting this out there to see if anyone has any experience with Kline exhausts on an N/A 996? I've had a good look around and can only find them used on Turbos.
Thanks all!
I’ve not got one on my car but if I was switching mine out I’d be going for a Kline. I’m sure you’ll get some positive feedback once people see your post. If you do go ahead with it it will be interesting to read your comments
I had one on my C4s. it was a piece of art. However Im not sure Id pay whatever the current price is, last time I looked it was circa £3000. Im paid £1500. Dont get me wrong was well made and sounded very nice but the Topgear system I had was not far off the same sound eventually after a tweeked it.
I was considering full top gear system until advised against it by the garage. That did surprise me though as there’s a lot of positive feedback for them in here.
I agree the Kline is pricey in comparison. It’s circa £5k for the system (not inc manifolds). But I think the warranty is lengthy compared to others. As the cars a keeper I’d prefer some reassurance long term. I was also considering the Inconel version too. But that’s another 1k or so.
I had a top gear set up before the kline. There was nothing wrong with he Top gear at all. Sound wise it was a bit more.....harsh, for lack of a better word. The Kline is a deeper smoother note imo. Sounds a bit more "refined".
I looked into this for mine and really would love the Inconel system too but man maths would just not add up. best of luck with it and hopefully see you at a meet one day to here it in person
Id rather go to a top end motorsport fabricator and go custom than spend that much on an 'off the shelf' system, personally. My car came with Spyder Performance backboxes when i bought it, sounds great but im unsure on the longevity of the system, ill most certainly be going custom thereafter.
If you are planning to keep your car, then it’s worth getting the best exhaust. I’ve had Kline exhaust on my 997 Turbo for the last 13 years, build quality is excellent, things looks like an art piece. Sounds excellent also. The 997 turbo never had a good reputation for soundtrack but this makes the car sound amazing.
Customer service is top level also.
Thanks all for the input. It sounds like a a lot of praise for the Kline system, which is what I'd hoped for. I've requested a quote for the SS and Inconel and see what they come back with.
One question I've never found the answer too - 100 or 200 cel cats? any benefits for one over the other?
Scottos - I'd never thought about going custom before - id worry about it being to bespoke, no real R&D etc. But I can see the appeal.
100 cell are less restrictive so will give some more power, but they will most likely fail an MOT on emissions. 200 Cell cats are good and will pass the MOT, hence that's what I have.
My 2001 996.1 C4 came with a Kline exhaust installed: x pipe and 200 cell cats with sport mufflers. For me it’s too loud, it’s sound really nice but after a while I’d rather have something that’s loud at the top end and not so loud all the time. My personal opinion. As mentioned around the forums, an x pipe trades mid range torque for top end horse power and I would rather prefer mid range torque. I’ll keep it as it is but when the manifold gaskets leak (and they are on their last legs) I might go with a quieter (TUV compliant) mufflers and 200 cell cross over pipes. Or not… I might regret it as I’m used to the growl of the Kline setup and might miss the noise. Better the devil you know and all that. One thing: I don’t know how old the cats are but I have to get the O2 sensor extensions due to fault codes as the cats were aging.
