Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check all was fine' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check all was fine' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I'd suggest disconnecting the rear lights to check the bulbs & connections, then refit.

I couldn't check what it was doing outside as i was alone, but will check tomorrow.

I had new paint on another car last year following a collision with a wild boar and was told by the bodyshop to do nothing but clean the paint work for the following two months - and not to use a pressure washer - in order to give the paint and clearcoat time to cure.

Replace lamp or unit can disturb the corrosion enough

With such corrosion it is possible that even removing and replacing the lamp or unit can disturb the corrosion enough to make it operate normally again, though best to give the connections a bit of attention...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I got my car back from the paint shop and used it to go to collect my daughter from uni as the first outing with new paint.
First question, what should i seal the paint with? The paint guy said, "nothing", just use it. ...
After a few miles I heard a noise so pulled into a layby to investigate. A section of the under trays was hanging loose! What a massive coincidence, that there were a handful of Zip ties littered in the layby exactly where i was parked.
On route, i noticed that the left turn indicator sometimes flashed at double speed - bulb i thought. But when i checked, all was fine. I then noticed that when the car is in reverse the dash illuminates the left indicator icon on the dash. I couldn't check what it was doing outside as i was alone, but will check tomorrow. Any ideas of what might be the issue, or what to look out for? I will remove, inspect and refit the front and rear lights on that side of the car.
Some glamour shots for your time....
As you've suggested, disconnect and reconnect both light units on that side. I'm guessing it's your rear though as when the reversing light is supposed to illuminate (on the rear) it's shorting out to the indicator. Only disconnect one unit at once though to not confuse matters.
The paint looks great. I'd suggest you consider a ceramic coating, & while you're at it do the wheels and brake callipers too.
I'd suggest disconnecting the rear lights to check the bulbs & connections, then refit. Perhaps it's it's a connection isn't quite seated properly.
Indicators fashing at circa twice the normal rate is usually down to a blown lamp, or a poor electrical connection to any one lamp, it can be intermittent with a poor connection, sometimes just corrosion around the amp or lamp holder, or the connections to the indicator unit.
With such corrosion it is possible that even removing and replacing the lamp or unit can disturb the corrosion enough to make it operate normally again, though best to give the connections a bit of attention...
Paint looks great! I had new paint on another car last year following a collision with a wild boar and was told by the bodyshop to do nothing but clean the paint work for the following two months - and not to use a pressure washer - in order to give the paint and clearcoat time to cure. Therefore no products were to be applied whilst curing was taking place.
Thanks all. I agree, The paint needs to cure and this can take up to 90d. I watched this video and hugely respect Jerry.
. I will just wash for the next three months and then find the best sealer i can.
On the electrical problem, i spent ages chasing around the issue, until i finally clicked. Why not try the reverse bulb from the rh side in the lh side of the car - rear clusters.
On removing both bulbs i could see that the failing side was a double element and the working side was single element. A quick trip to screwfix and a pair of P21 21W bulbs procured for £4.99. Installed these and all is good!
I did note these odd markings under each rear light cluster though. Are these normal?
There is a 'P' on the passenger side and 'AG' on the drivers side. Porsche AG having some fun?
Interesting on the incorrect lamp fitment, usually dual filament as in stop tail lights, have offset pins 180 deg apart, whereas single element lamps as in indicator and reversing lamps have pins at the same hight relative to the base of the lamp. Thus one should not fit in the others holder due to the pin configuration...
Also single filament has only one blob of solder as a filament connection on the base, whereas stop tail has two connection points, the earth return via the body/cap of the lamp through the lamp holder and connected to earth...
