I'm going to be getting the Hartech Racing Deep Sump
I've found this forum about installing it:
DIY Hartech Racing Deep Sump Install
The forum says to use Loctite 241 and Loctite 5900 whereas the instructions from Harteck use Wurth Super RTV Silicone. Which of these should I use?
Hartech recomend the following oil:
Temps Under 240F: 15W50
Temps Above 240F: 10W60
Does anyone have an opinion on these, or reccomend a different oil? And what brand?
Timeline:
2024
August - Hartech Racing Deep Sump
August/September - Porsche Motorsport AOS
October - No More Street use (Maybe 1-2 days per month)
2025
February - Pirelli Porsche Series Race 5
March - Pirelli Porsche Series Race 6
September - Full Build Complete
Track days sprinkled inbetween.
Various other modifications will be installed throughout this period unrelated to oil.
At what points on this timeline should I use what oil?
I plan on getting a Porsche Motorsport AOS installed next, will this change what oil I should use?
Should I get more oil cooling at the same time as this?
I would like an oil temp guage in the car, will this be easiest to install while i have the sump out, and what brand should I use?
The
loctite
product I used for my install was specified by hartech at the time I installed it (via email) . If they updated their recommendation then use whatever the most recent recommendation is. I haven't had any leaks so feel free to use either imo.
As far as the mods and oil choice, the oil doesn't change with the mods. The oil should be chosen to best suit your use case. For our engines something with a high moly content is best (from what I've read) or whatever oil you think is best and add ceratek additive to get the moly content. The mods you've specified will increase reliability via better oil control, regardless of what oil you use.
Good luck! Document your mods, I'll enjoy reading your journey with your car.
