I previously fitted the Eibach Pro Kit springs on my 996.2 C2, fitted to the standard dampers without any compensation plates, great stance and handling but it was pretty low, Eibach springs definately sit the car lower than the H&R springs

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So my C2 has the stock none MO30 set up, theyāre not even a year old, all replaced by previous owner prior to it being sold and becoming mine. I love it but it does sit s bit high which I know can be possible with the set up being so new, only around 300 miles since they were fitted. She rides lovely so itās purely from an aesthetic point of view that Iād consider changing them.
So, what springs did you fit, how easy was it to fit them, how different was the ride from stock and how much lower did the car sit afterwards.
Thanks guys
Eibach is recommended for a simple'ish swap
assuming you don't have adjustable shocks, provides a good planted ride
However the end outcome is very subjective

Thread '996 lowering springs'
21 Aug 2018
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of using lowering springs with the objective of achieving a lowered ride height?
I believe there are many options on the market, H&R / Eibach / DesignTek etc
Many thanks

Thread '996 ride too low with Eibach Springs'
26 Oct 2024
Hello everyone,
New member here from Greece.
I bought a 996 C2 manual earlier this year and have spent quite a bit of money to get it closer to where I want it to be.
Among others (IMS,AOS...) I did a complete suspension and chassis overhaul. Shocks, springs, top mounts, coffin arms, control arms etc.
Something that did not turn out as I expected was the ride height. I am running Koni Sport shocks with Eibach springs. I went for this setup because I had it on my previous car, an E46 M3 and I loved it.
On the 996 though it seems to be sitting too low. Both front and rear wheels are almost...

I replaced the M030 on my last C2 with H&R springs and Koni SA shocks. The ride height ended up being identical to stock GT3 ride height and was about right, I think.
I previously fitted the Eibach Pro Kit springs on my 996.2 C2, fitted to the standard dampers without any compensation plates, great stance and handling but it was pretty low, Eibach springs definately sit the car lower than the H&R springs
What a fantastic looking car! A lowered narrow body does look very crisp and better than a WB in my opinion and I have a C4S!
Your wheels, did they come that colour or did you paint them? If painted what colour is it? Looking to do something similar.
Itās not hard, but as said you need to be able to compress the spring to remove the top mount without the preload on it and the same for fitting.
The other hurdle will be seized fasteners. Expect sheared bolts, cutting, drifting out, penetrating oil, heat, swearing, thoughts of why you didnāt just take it to a garage etc.
Itās had the whole suspension setup replaced in the last 18 months and new standard bilsteins fitted by last owner so Iām hoping that wouldnāt be an issue
