Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Pelican Parts: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I searched the forum but could not find this answer. . . I have a 2000 Carrera Tip with a worn trim piece around the gear selector. Any insight how to remove the gear selector and the trim piece around it? I’d like to replace it with this. . . thanks.

I guess I could help a CAANG guy… lol https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/99655265501.htm?pn=996-552-655-01-OEM&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvO2IBhCzARIsALw3ASpVc3_HXcljyZPO1-kPVrgYkh-VFKWJnjFQTI8cqvOu8JFyuTAI3u0aAlj5EALw_wcB#tab2 Look at the underside pic here and pop those tabs with a plastic trim tool. Shift knob pulls up with some gusto on the manual, not 100% for the auto.

The transmission works fine. I’ve had it checked out. The trim piece was scratched up and ugly. I replaced only that.
