Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I don't know about the dealer, I really doubt they'd car, but insurance company could be a different matter if the car is involved in an accident and damaged in the rear they 'could' argue that your modification increased the amount of damage received by removing the sub structure arms and thereby not pay for the full repair costs, or they might try to disclaim altogether depending upon your insurance contract.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

But remember that you will have to do extensive modification for this to fit (see Articles) And your Dealer and Insurance Co. will not like this either...

POST 3Original post

KaiserSozay, I think what he means is that there are aluminum pieces RIVETED to the main bumper that will have to be cut off or the rivets drilled out, etc. to allow the new bumper to fit. See the Article about removing your bumperettes in our Articles section and you'll see what he means. The proof you seek is in the photos I took. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/taunt.gif

POST 4Original post

Actually I think you were asking about proof that a dealer or insurance company wouldn't like it. At the very least I'd read over your insurance contract to see if there is anything in it about modifying safety equipment.

you know I've always wondered why you guys have those bumperettes because they don't look very aesthetic. I'm sorry you have to put up with those. Mind you we over here in the UK have to have front Number Plates which I guess spoil the front of the car too... The Standard UK number plate is actually bigger than the front number plate mount !!

The Standard UK number plate is actually bigger than the front number plate mount !!
If you look at any European car magazine, nearly all of the cars over there have front plates and they don't look too bad to me....perhaps because they are not as tall as ours in the states. I had a Vette prior to my Cayman and becasue the front comes into a point, a front plate looks ridiculous on that car. On the Cayman S?......not so bad. Then again my out of state dealer drilled holes in mine and mounted the bracket.......perhaps I am just 'telling myself' that it doesn't look so bad/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/crazy.gif
Edited by - AmerLemans on 03/02/2006 04:57:59 AM

Please keep us posted on the bumper - were you planning to do the swap yourself or having the dealer do it for you. If you end up doing it yourself please document it with an article here.
