Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

http://www.ultimatepedals.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=135_140&products_id=2761 Came across these...would the boxter pedals fit into the cayman? Impressions anyone?...COCO

POST 2Original post

Coco, Good find... I’ve been looking also for a pedal set that will work on our Croc’s. Ruf and others seemed high $$$ and not yet specifically for the Cayman. Ultimate Pedals options seem very good. I’d also like a set to include the foot rest. Will be giving Ultimate Pedals a call to see what’s up, I’ll post the results. The OEM pedals have to go. zornet

POST 3Original post

Coco - 996/986 Boxster pedals won't work in the Cayman. The pedals and the way they mount changed between the 986 and 987 Boxster versions and thus the Cayman.

POST 4Original post

Zornet, sure thing. If they do fit and look nice Ill pick a pair on my next US trip....KmanS you are probably right, lets see what UP has to say. Maybe they have some CY pedals on the works..saludos..COCO

POST 5Original post

I just ordered the matching Sport Footrest and I think I will settle with that at $169. Even that seems a bit pricey to me. It should have come with it! Russ

POST 6Original post

I just got off the phone with Robert of “Ultimate Pedals”. He stated that like Ken that the 996/986 versions of the pedals will not work but 987’s would, and they do make them. They have shipped a few sets to customers already for the Cayman. He did mention that on checkout too include the Porsche model. Ken I informed him of the club, and he seemed very interested in being a sponsor, and requested that I send him the CC link. Which I’m going to be doing immediately. You may want to give him a call, very nice guy. zornet

POST 7Original post

zornet, good to hear, can always use more advertisers/sponsors especially if it benefits our members by bringing new products forward. I am out of town but will contact him upon my return, if you don't see anything in a few days shoot me a reminder please!

POST 8Original post

I went with the Better Bodies track pedal. All billit aluminum. Just the Gas pedal though, the brake and clutch evidently don't work. I am going to do the install one night this week.

POST 9Original post

I just received my sport footrest and it was $239.99 with the discount $179.95! I have to tell you, SAVE YOUR MONEY! This looks like a cheap piece of plastic with some rubber and aluminum on it. I will post some pics later. Russ

POST 10Original post

Send it back Russ, there will be some better aftermarket stuff soon. Ask Booth Design for what you and we want.

POST 11Original post

SF, Yes I decided that I will send it back. It is not worth $25 much less $179. It is simply plastic with clips that hook on. No side piece just the flat face. Here are a couple of pics that didn't come out too good, but you will get the idea. That black one is the plastic back.

POST 12Original post

Glad you showed me that....I agree not worth the cash.....who knows always something else out there to buy

POST 13Original post

Russ, Santa Fe & ExecDrew, I’m expecting my delivery on Thursday from “ Ultimate Pedals ”. I’ll post pic’s soon after. zornet

POST 14Original post

yikes,..that is chinsy....me no likey... im sure like SF said, there will be some options real soon.. hopefully an all metal footrest option.

POST 15Original post

Zornet, I will look forward to seeing your pedals! Russ

POST 16Original post

Received my Pedal Set from “Ultimate Pedals” yesterday, here’s a few pic’s. I must say I am very happy with the sizing of these pedals, they are custom-made to the exact size of our OEM ped’s. After work last night I over lapped the pedals on the exciting Cayman pedals and they were right on the money. They come with detailed instructions and fasteners. GAS Ped - above Clutch (reversed to show back finish) and Brake Ped's - above Drivers Footrest - above I'll be back after I do the deed... zornet

POST 17Original post

lookin forward to seeing how those look after she is wearing them! let us know how much you paid for them..maybe we could get a group buy on them if enough people are interested.....

POST 18Original post

This was my order 'Ultimate Pedals ' 1 x Porsche 996/Boxster (1998-Present) Series Gas Pedal (748) = $58.00 1 x Porsche 996/Boxster (1998-Present) Series Driver Footrest (747) = $79.00 1 x Porsche 996/Boxster (1998-Present) Series Brake, Clutch Pedals (both included) (746) = $74.00 All with - Finish Frosted Anti-Slip without Grip Insert Total: $211.00 zornet

POST 19Original post

I'm in on a group buy if they look as good as Zornet's initial preview. In fact I'd go same exact order.

POST 20Original post

Zornet, Your pedals look very nice! And to think all of them cost less than the retail of $239 for the sport footrest. Thanks Russ

POST 21Original post

I am for a group buy on these. What do you all think about the versions with the rubber nubs in them for additional grip?

POST 22Original post

Jhellow - I would had gone that route but after years of use they wear down, and look it I believe. But until that happens they’d be great. zornet

POST 23Original post

Zornet: I know how they do those nubs. They just press in and the old ones are easy to remove. I will give Ken some time to try to set up a group buy and then I am going with the nubs. Hope you are enjoying the Cayman. I just hit 600 miles and will start ramping up my Rev limit.

POST 24Original post

Zornet those peddles are really nice; and the price is sweet. Have you installed them? Any problems?

POST 26Original post

Jhellow - Your so right if the rubber nubs wear down, they can be swapped out for new. I bet my non-nubed could be changed up to nubed by inserting xxx’s. LUV’n the Cayman, but have been unable to clean her as this week the painters were in my space. Finished today, new paint on house & new Croc in garage, life’s good. Gene - Tomorrow with the install. Cocodrilo - We have you to thank on your find of “Ultimate Pedals”, I had never heard of them until your post. Thanks. Before and after pic’s should be up tomorrow after the deed is done. zornet
