Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone any ideas how to replace this rubber boot? [attachment=IMG_20160712_085929.jpg]

POST 2Original post

What's on the other end may be a smaller plug or does go straight into the loom. If the thing to do is cut of and re solder then use heat shrink.?

POST 3Original post

You need to remove the pins from the plug to slip a new boot on as it's Highley unlikely you would be able to stretch a new one over it. Removing the pins isn't too difficult but can be tricky and you need to ensure you refit them in the right positions. You can get a tool specifically for releasing the pins from the plug but it can also usually be done with a very very small screwdriver. The easiest way to fix your issue would be to just fit some heat shrink to repair the existing boot.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks both. I wondered if you could push the pins out. I'll give that a go.
