Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

But I hope they keep this up for 2 more years or so, so I can buy another 996, probably a c4, and build a homage to the rally 996's, so I can have fun in Michigan winter too

So use the crowbar to pry a few bucks from your wallet, Ebenezer.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Also in the article the "expert" stated early m96's had more issues, actually it is my understanding the early cars had a double row barring and where more proven than the 3.6l 02'+ cars, but at any event they still not self destructing left and right.
Don't close the thread. That's what I like to read. Not that I needed to read that the 996 was the 'deal of the century'. I already figured that fact out. 1% to 5% on the ims I like as well. Thanks for your posting DPORTO
^ But it was already posted, prior to mine ^... Problem now is...I can't close it (much to my chagrin!)... Would you say I have a plethora of options, El Guapo? I say no...no option under thread tools...
The German article states that prices are already climbing for 996
"Think too long, you should not incidentally: the cost of a 996 4S two years ago with a manual transmission still EUR 30 000, so there are already EUR 40 000 (with less than 80,000 km mileage, a maximum of second hand and with service history)."
Thanks to recent discussions on the English language I just realized that the "p" is silent in the "ositive" in your title. Or it doesn't exist but it's pronounced anyway?
Some of the comments of this article are just crazy.
1 guy is saying D-block and some other stuff and that m96/97 engines are faiuling left and right...smdh, no wonder the values tanked so much.

Another side of me is happy I bought last year and if I "had" to sell today, I could probably be even (not including upgrades, fixes, maintenance) with 27k more miles.
dporto - you need some work on your thread locking skills.
Better contact JohnnyIrish for some pointers. Then call Jake and bitch at him about your Rennlist not working.
