Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'yes' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'yes' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace (628xx)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Does anyone have a copy of the service bulletin # 6924 that gives instructions of replacing the wiring harnesses under the seats?

Sorry I don’t have an answer to your question but I have a question for you about testing the buckle.

I have a multimeter and I understand ohms testing, I just need to know where you placed the probes.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got an airbag failure light on with a code 46 (drivers seat belt) tripping the light. Does anyone have a copy of the service bulletin # 6924 that gives instructions of replacing the wiring harnesses under the seats?
Totally off topic JFP in PA (and Rabbitt1445)and I apologize in advance....but your signature line should have an "a" instead of "de"...
"Accrochez-vous bien a vos reves"....."hold on tight to your dreams" (plural)
In the ELO song of the same name, the lyrics read:
"Accroches-toi a ton reve"....which is the singular version.
....just passing this on to you FYI!
Thanks. I bought a new seat belt receptacle and harness kit for the driver's side.
Now I know what to do with it.
Need a PWIS or Durametric to clear the code though.
My 99 Boxster Base falls after the VIN production change (628xx). I have the airbag light and fault 45 (drivers side buckle). Buckle measured 133ohm buckled/399 unbuckled. Is the buckle bad and/ or do I still need the harness retrofit kit? TIA!
Sorry I don’t have an answer to your question but I have a question for you about testing the buckle. I have a multimeter and I understand ohms testing, I just need to know where you placed the probes. Was the battery disconnected? And any other information regarding testing, or your experience with this issue.
I am having this issue with both buckles. I am the second owner purchased in 2012 with 19,000 miles. (986 base produced before TSB 6924. When I took the seats out I discovered the harness on the car side had been altered and that there are two grounding posts on both sides of the car, each with one ground wire. Do you have two ground posts per side?
When I was putting the seats back in I noticed that after putting the connectors back together there seemed to be a tiny amount of play between them so I secured them together with wire ties hoping that would solve the problem. I made it 35 miles before the airbag light came on again.
I would like to do the ohms test on the seatbelt buckles before I go ahead and replace them.
Thank you for your time and if I come across any new information or possible remedies I will pass them along.
