Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Found one online seller is willing to part with for $350. Is this reasonable or room to go lower in price? It is not my color so would need to get it painted. Thanks all

POST 2Original post

Sit tight and find your color. There are a lot of them out there and they are always showing up for sale. If it was your color, it is a great deal. A repaint would be costly.

POST 3Original post

+996 to what Chuck W above said. Are you able to drive to the seller or will top need to be shipped? Things to also consider: * mounting hardware on hardtop matches what your car has * defrosters work * liner and seals are OK * see if hardtop latch cover and wrench (#11 in diagram below) are also available OTHER minor plastic pieces (#7 & 8 below) you will also need: (your car should already have #9)

POST 4Original post

Just found one for my '04 cab and picked it up in LA on the Labor Day weekend. Midnight blue metallic/savannah beige for $500US. The round trip was 2,900 miles from Vancouver BC to go get it but was well worth it! Great excuse for a road trip. Keep looking and wait for the right color combo.

You drove 2,900 miles round trip for a top. You are my hero! I bet that was a great road trip. Cheers!

POST 6Original post

$350 is reasonable if it does not have to be shipped.

POST 7Original post

$350 is real reasonable, I see them on my local CL for around $500.00 here and there. I think $500 is cheap considering what this option cost originally. -Jason

POST 8Original post

The hardtop is an impressive piece of engineering. Today I was able to remove it by myself enough to replace some padding bits. I was scared sh*tless to do it myself, but the design turned out to be "fail safe."

POST 9Original post

You can buy a floor stand or erect a ceiling hoist for the top when you get one. Moving the top is still a 2 handed job but a hoist can be used by one person IF you park the car directly under the center of car. $350 is a great price for the top. I would hang on for the correct color. What color is your car?

POST 11Original post

I have a hoist for mine and it works great. Just drive the car under it and in a couple of minutes I'm a coupe again. Still holding out for consistently cold temperatures so in about another month or so I'll install it again. As for the price, well I bought mine for $400 about 3-4 years ago. It has the wrong color interior panels (grey instead of beige) so I bought some plastic paint to fix that but never got around to refinishing it. Oh well, one of these days - it's not often I look up while driving anyway.

POST 12Original post

No way was I ever going to find one in body color, so I got a black-on-black hard top for $400 including stand and cover. Had to drive a couple hours south to pick it up, well worth it. Will probably put it on the car in a week or two.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car is metallic blue (dark blue forget the exact name). The seller is local so I could drive and get it. Wrong color so I will probably wait for a color match. Thanks all

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

By the way This is for sale in Atlanta and is silver. $750 per Craig's list but I texted and they said they would take $350. https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/pts/5252359934.html
