I was hoping that draining the fuel system was covered in the book but there's no fuel filter underneath my car - so I assume there was a design change after 2001.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Pelican Parts: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All. I've just joined the forum. I'm in England. Sorry about that...someone's got to live here. And sorry that I don't really know how the forum works. I've tried to 'search' for my topic (I'm sure it's been covered before) but can't figure out how to do that ? What should I click on to do a search ? Anyway - I bought Wayne's book 101 Projects which lead me here. I was hoping that draining the fuel system was covered in the book but there's no fuel filter underneath my car - so I assume there was a design change after 2001. The car has stood on jacks for 6yrs so I assume the fuel has gone bad and the whole system will need flushing through. Can I break open a connection under the car to drain down the tank ? If so, could you send me some nice clear pics to show where/how. Any help most welcome. Not sure if it's allowed to put up my email address but here goes: [email removed] Regards Paul My car is UK registered Sept 2002, 996 Gen2, C2, 3.6L, Tiptronic, Targa, RHD. There's a lot to do on the car - it was my brothers but his restoration work stopped when he became ill. Any other advice for getting it back up and running will be much appreciated.
