Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking for a trailer wiring harness for my '06 Carrera 997. I imagine it needs to be externally powered and isolated. What have others done when adding a hitch and pulling a trailer in their 997? Thanks

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Super witty... and original.

Lol, that’s the best I got! Good luck with your endeavors. I can assure you that if you’re successful, you’ll turn more heads than a 918 spyder!

POST 5Original post

Have a trailer hitch on my E30 to pull a small jet ski trailer. Then put a hitch on my Mini Cooper. The wireing is not complicated and there is ample space to run the power from the battery to the rear plug. Both of those run the wires at the drivers door under the carpet. There are a number of suitable wire holders from BMW that make the job easy. The 4130 molly custom tow bar on my 1967 S is outstanding.

Ok great. I'll just jump in and see what unfolds.

POST 7Original post

There's a few GT3's and such out there with little trailer hitches for a small tire carrier. It can be done, hell I even saw a C6 Z06 with a trailer hitch that would tow a skidoo (you can google it, he was in rochester NY). Theres a company who makes them for earlier boxsters and 996's, ill attach a link to their site. Its not for a 997 but maybe it can lead you in the right direction https://porschehitch.com/product *edit: Found another company after a quick google search https://www.sporttows.com/product-page/class-1-receiver-for-porsche
