Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of the Origin B2 camera / laser detector that I installed yesterday.

It sits a touch close to the gearlever, but not close enough for my hand to hit it when changing gear.

The wiring is very straight forward to run, using power from the lighter socket in the front passenger footwell.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi all Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of the Origin B2 camera / laser detector that I installed yesterday. The wiring is very straight forward to run, using power from the lighter socket in the front passenger footwell. It sits a touch close to the gearlever, but not close enough for my hand to hit it when changing gear. It doesnt need really need to be in line of sight, as the beep is loud enough to hear anyway, and the flashing red LED's alert you too. POST 2Original post

You might consider writing this up as an Article in the Articles section to help guide current and future members in this sort of install. Probably belongs in the same category as the radar detector mod.

POST 3Original post

Hi Tonse, Nice job, I have an Origin B2, great bit of kit and very reliable. I'm thinking of having mine hard-wired in (as I did in my BMW), just trying to decide on a suitable location for the cradle, yours looks good there, I dont like them stuck on top of the dash either. Have you considered the LE 30 for ultimate laser protection (or if you prefer garage door opening /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif). One question regarding the position of your laser detector - isn't there a rear facing node on the back of the unit? If so you may need to move it away from the rear view mirror to get line of sight to the rear of the car. Having said that and as you probably know, if and when the laser detector alarms its usually too late (unless you've picked up scatter from another targeted car) Hence my interest in the dubious LE 30.
