Had the Fabspeeds fitted today and I'm glad I went for the option of them fitting rather than me - the left hand side one took them 2 hours to get off.

Interestingly, the guys today said that it wasn't worth changing the exhaust manifolds because after the boxes, tips and cats, they would only add about another 2 to 3 Bhp.

Had the Fabspeeds fitted today and I'm glad I went for the option of them fitting rather than me - the left hand side one took them 2 hours to get off. Superb sound, very different from the PSE and has restored the permagrin. The only problem is that the exhaust drowns out the howl from the Fabspeed induction kit - I guess you can't have it all. Just need to get the sound tested now.
The bad news is that whilst they had it up on the lift, I had a good look around underneath. Cam covers gaskets are fine but the latest generation RMS has definitely failed. To quote the technician who was doing the fitting, "It isn't a bad leak but it's definitely weeping" So I was right, it did only last 3,000 miles.
I wish I had a way of recording phone calls so I could post the one I'll be having tomorrow morning with a certain OPC.

Car turned over 24,000 as I pulled up to have them fitted. Total cost for boxes and tips fitted was £1,060 (inc VAT) which included new clamps - silencer to tips and silencer to cats - and all new bolts.
Compared to purchase alone from Desing 911, this would be £1,050 (inc VAT) Really nice bunch of blokes working out of a farm near Tring (Bucks/Beds/Herts boarder). Bought them from Essential Styling and they were fitted by RPM Porsche who they share the facilities with.
RPM have got a reasonable 964 C2 for sale at £15,495 - but would take an offer - with a straight through exhaust
sounded absolutely awesome but Bedford would black flag you before you got through the security barrier.

Not for a while yet Chris, unless I can get in on the PGT, Silverstone jobby. Suspension is the next upgrade, then 100 cell cats before the re-map.
