Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm one of the few who have liked and used my center cupholder. Recently though it suddenly refuses to latch closed, so now it is popped out about an inch or two. Today I tried to take it out and see if I can either repair it or at least get it closed while I search for a replacement (and yes, I know how ridiculously overpriced they are). I removed the horseshoe and top vent, but I cannot seem to get the cupholder out. I've searched here quite a bit, and while I see numerous references to the cupholder, so far nothing on how to remove it. Suggestions welcome!

POST 3Original post

You have to take the radio, climate control unit. and surrounding bracket out. The cupholder will come out attached to the surrounding bracket, at which point you can release it from the bracket via 2 release levers. Good luck

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Of COURSE I have to take everything out of the center stack just to get the cupholder! Doh!
