I purchased some 3mm thick M6 washers and stacked four of them up and used a 12mm longer bolt to hold the lot together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ive purchased a used pair of the 340mm Girodiscs for the front of my 2001 996 C2. They came with the spacers to space the calipers out and the longer caliper to upright bolts. However as I was thinking about the conversion last night, it struck me the hardlines arrowed in red here : will be 11mm shorter than required to reach the caliper when the calipers are spaced out to accommodate the larger rotors. Does Girodisc normally supply revised, longer hardlines in their kit ? If not, how have you guys who have fitted the Girodiscs addressed the issue ? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

Someone recently posted about this upgrade over on the 996 subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/996/comments/12si6qd/updates/ They upgraded to Spiegler stainless steel lines.

POST 3Original post

Usually there is a spacer and a longer bolt to space out the hard line connection. The ss brake line has nothing to do with it. If u dont have the spacer some washers will work or make one.

POST 4Original post

I installed them with spacers and had no problems with the hard lines. Joey

he is correct above as I know .. use the supplied hardware and I would reach out to GiroDisc just verify you have the right items.. you never know when you are receiving it as a used item.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All sorted thank you gents. I hadn't appreciated how the hard lines ran and were mounted, but once you guys mentioned a spacer, it became clear how to address the issue. I purchased some 3mm thick M6 washers and stacked four of them up and used a 12mm longer bolt to hold the lot together. Many thanks for your input.
