I have Designtek back boxes on my 996 that were fitted by the previous owner and they sound terrific on full chat and have a nice growl and throb at idle....

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I’m looking for a little more theatre from my exhaust system, nothing obnoxious but my mild Dansk back boxes aren’t cutting it. I’m looking at the top gear 200 cat x pipe, assuming this is fine to fit with the Dansk back boxes and would add a little more noise? Has anyone got this combination? Would it be best to replace the mainifolds at the same time or are the standard ones up to the job? Adam

POST 2Original post

I had switchable spyder peformance back boxes and wanted more so went with the TG sports cat x pipe and it sounds awesome now, everything i wanted from the car. The X pipe makes it sounds different as well, with it merging the two banks of cylinders. You can get none merging sports cats if you want the same sound as now but louder.

Dansk style larger oval tips off Ebay for £140 a pair. Nice guards red 996 btw.
