Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
80 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Does anyone have a reliable source of what these are now going for in actual transactions rather than the SOR aspirational prices / dealer stickers?
Thanks
The one on collecting cars will be a very good indicator as to what they’re worth in the second hand market. I actually saw one on the road today the same colour as the collecting cars one. Absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful cars but even more of a one-trick pony ??
I look at all the cars for sale, some "new" at £30k over list from OPC's and others gradually ageing doing nothing at over £300k ...
Maybe if the next is an electric they will at some stage go up in value ... but there are an awful lot for sale and we are now well into the track-day season ...
Also, expensive to run at pace, very expensive to repair and somewhat unforgiving if they get untidy at real speed. For these reasons also lost impossible to insure for track days ... though I now self insure.
(One of the things that makes a GT4 such a sweet spot) ...

If you want to be 'king of hill' it's still the one to have.
And 992.1 GT3 owners, and owners of its predecessor, are probably going to have to find ~ £100k even with a special invite.
To get the engine, the smart money is in a GT4 RS if you track and an older 991.2 GT3 for road and track.
Having done 30 k miles in my .2RS , it can be used on a daily basis but this is a step too far looks wise . This makes it a one trick pony as Chris says and that trick can come at a price with even a small off ( CF parts mad expensive ) .
So market is very small hence very hard to sell especially in more extreme colour options .
Most will have very low milage even in years to come as just to the track an back generally

CC car is on steel brakes, so its probably 30K over list now, if you include the fees.
I think these cars are still pulling a 50K premium, we will see when the final bid is in.
Sold at 230 plus the 7 fee so £237 k which is good as peak track day time of the year . 993 Turbo S made good money , neighbour had one and sold it for £50 k .. eek

I'm really not sure anyone with a 991rs can reasonably call the 992rs 'even more of a one trick pony'..... It's still a road car that has a largely unusable amount of grip fir most people and almost all road conditions that only really comes alive on track with loud shouty 'racer' looks to help look the part. If the 992rs is a one trick pony, the 991rs, especially the .2 most certainly would be one as well.

So where would you put any luggage in the 992.1 GT3RS once any passenger is in place ? Crash helmets plus ??
I do own a 991.2 GT3RS and even with the front boot and room through the roll cage it's best use is really track days plus a bit ... hence the 992.1 GT3RS is IMHO more of a one trick pony for good reason .... unless you know otherwise ?
You can fit lots of stuff in a .2rs. I've used mine for euro trips with the Mrs, le mans camping and numerous ring trips.
Multiple crash helmets, bags and camping gear. Easily fits in the front and back.
Without the front, it would be very tight but doable. The issue for me would be the looks imo.
But I'd still have one, however they're not twice the car so wouldn't pay twice as much for one.
Bonkers asking prices and time will tell.

Too true hence I have no roll cage as well , was need space when going to race at Spa or Le Mans for luggage and passenger stuff . Also use mine for the Petrol run to local stations ( To avoid Sodifuel price ) as can get 4 Jerry cans in the boot.

Totally impractical car as at lemans dinner you could not fit 3 of us in the back,i will take the cayenne next time
The carbon cage looks ok to stuff kit through, the cgt is not much more practical for luggage, but who cares the driving is the most important part.
Local opc still asking 330 for a rs because of is pts for ffs, looked at st for sale, even dafter ask compared to a gt3.
I am told that the carbon roll cage has smaller openings ... hence helmets will not fit through ... ??
So even for a couple going for a track day one helmet has to be in the passenger footwell and the other on the passenger's knee ...let alone passengers' in the back

I can get open face helmets through the opening between the seats on my 992 RS. Never tried to put a full face through yet.
That opening is large enough to get several bags through as well. Seems to be a common misconception that these cars have no practicality
Well, I wouldn't really consider luggage space as that big differential of 'one trick pony-ness' (but I would say that wouldn't I with even less space than a 992rs) but one person's 'one trick pony' is another's 'focused car' I suppose. the radical rxc would be a one trick pony imo but I'd personally always struggle to consider any GT car as such (irrespective of luggage space).

Good to get owner input.
The gig is up… everyone is savvy now and wont pay significant overs in the UK unless it’s for PTS….
Plenty of cars available in ‘normal’ colours so it back to pretty much list.

All owners should use their 992 3RS
Owners that do not will never know just how good they are, on road and on track.
Suspect you’re right, across the board really - GT3, 4RS and SRS. Money tighter, over supply etc.
As a petrolhead I’d like to own one, but, it doesn’t fit what I’d want it for. Lack of frunk would make for more hassle touring and the looks would always attract massive attention I suspect. Think I will stick with my SRS long term - similar engine and box for half the price!

Even PTS they are ludicrously priced. I remember seeing these at a smidgen under 600k......Fools and their money.
But, at £200k or even 190, Id have a WP car in a heartbeat. Not the best road trip car but I use all mine properly so it would be used accordingly.

£190-200k would have to seriously force the 991.2 variants down as some are sitting in the 180's.
That being said there are more 992 RS for sale than 991.1 and 991.2 combined. What are production numbers like in comparison?

But at the price that 991.2's are , you can use them properly. Personally Id not be fussed with a 30% correction if Id used it. £300k for a 992? No chance, not for me. Given the more road bias 991.2, you'd use it more too. But like I said, Id have a 992 in a heartbeat. grey and red please, or green. Anyone fancy a manky kidney?
True.
Id have a 992 RS as I like how they are so purposeful but do get how compromised they are. Even 911.2's I think can be a little too firm for the road.
I know they are all essentially track cars but the 997 and 991.1 seem the sweet point for looks and usability.

Early on a few cars went to Asia….cars traded around £500k mark. I think an RS at £230k is a better buy than a new high spec GT3 which can get up to £200k if you get carried away with options. No idea how many RS’s are in the country but my guess is each OPC has delivered somewhere between 5 and 10.
Mwn11 said:

You were saying….
GT Silver under the peelable paint if memory serves.
I loved the first question on that car ... has it ever been tracked ??
The OPC 991.2 GT3RS prices don't appear to have changed in 18 months ... which makes no sense unless new prices are increasing faster than these cars are depreciating ??
Would I now pay more than list for a 992 GT3RS if I thought I could do one justice ? Nope ....
So let's see ....
As for 992.2 GT3's, particularly if these may be the last shout of this engine, why would Porsche supply only 2 per OPC in '25 ? Surely they should sell as many as they can for as long as they can ... on past form they will tell the World that there can only be a few and quietly "flood the zone" ... won't they ?
Which is fine for cars that are going to be cherished and used as long term keepers ...

I was comparing opc prices to opc prices but that looked like a good deal tbh.
I didn’t mean that you were wrong…I was agreeing that the top of 991.2 GT3 RS prices might be coming off as 992RS and 992.2 GT3 enter the space and put a bit of pressure just do to shear weight of numbers.
More supply leads to lower prices in the real market.
All this lovely weather, where is the driving reports.
super car on the Horizon, version two of the Gt3 rs and Gt2rs and a muttering of version 2 st all with the 4.2 ltr, would help get Porsche out of the poo and scupper the current flippers/dreamers

For driving you'll have to go to the 718RS thread...
Ref 4.2L in the S/T... they SHOULD have done that for the current one - that would then allow the 992.2 RS to get a 4.2 also.
As it is...looks like .2 911 RS will be turbo/hybrid-torque fill car...

Still £58k more than my winged .2 track car, though. And as you know, I’m not on the conveyor. Does look like more of the .2 are going to people that have wanted one for a while and aren’t just “best customers” of dealers. Which is really nice to see.

Think your find most 992.1 owners the delta to swap into a .2 is just too large of a gap, that and the price of .2 is silly expensive, i know a few guys that it just doesn't make any sense for them to jump in

Completely agree. Very little sense moving from a .1 to a .2
But also the delta from an OPC used approved .1 to .2 isn’t actually that great, currently. So if, like me, you’re given the option of taking a new, self specced car, or a used .1, I think most would go for the new car.

Depends on spec etc. my .1 today would be £210k + I paid £160k.
A £50k saving which gets me some MR light weight wheels, and £40k for drugs and w
es.
But for me even if you take money out of it (£40k is a lot of money though)
I don’t want a .2 car
I don't want less torque in a road car
I don't want the torque peak higher up the rev range in a road car.
I don't want the nanny aids you have to turn off.
I don't want even more cats in the exhaust system
I don't want a locked obd port.
I DO want an real Rev needle.
I DO want to be able to fit an exhaust if I want too.
I DO want a lighter car.
I Like the midrange torque in the .1
I do want PCCB
I do want a set of light weight wheels. (Expensive option on the .2 lightweight pack)
So it's not all about the money, I think the .1 is a nicer road car with a nicer torque range, lighter and no nanny bits and no locked port.
The .2 while great we get to still buy a NA manual GT car at a price , seems more a car which has to meet a lot of regs !
Track only and the WP option to get the weight back down to .1 levels yes maybe the .2 where the peak torque higher up the revs would work better on track.
But no one buys these as true track hacks.

You weren’t the intended target.
Someone on the conveyor might well have done WP and optioned up to the gills bringing that pricing much closer.
My main point is really that all new cars are disproportionately expensive now. Pricing train has just run away down the track.
Of course this is down the manufacturers just looking to mop up all the overs that people were paying and that the market seemingly was willing to bear but that was only because the cars were actually under-priced new and so the value was built in.
Now that manufacturers are pocketing that value things look a bit different, unless you actually want the car for driving and not as a financial instrument.

Like I said! If you have a .1 there isn t the need (or want, by you) to go for the .2 Point proven.
But, I didn t get the option of a .1, so it was a used, with unknown history, .1, or a .2 with the options I wanted (no PCCB, but CS, for starters) and not what the previous owner thought they needed to spec for the flip.
I do like the shorter gearing though. And the anti-dive is a real thing.
I don t do exhaust upgrades. Got no interest in tuning it, or modifying beyond a decent geo.
So as I said above, it works for me at the spec and price I paid for it. And happy that you are happy with your .1 and whatever you re doing/going to do with it.
Jack
(And yes, given the choice, had I got a .1 at list, I d keep the £40k for drugs and hookers too..

They are amazing machines, the front end is the wow factor over any other Porsche I have owned.
Nothing touches it imo as a driving machine, yes you can buy older cars, I have one which I love to drive, but the 992.1 or .2 GT3 is outstanding to drive.
car dealer said something interesting to me in passing a couple of days ago. Nowadays some of the guys who drove Aventadors along Leopoldstrasse in Munich now drive the 992 RS instead - guess the imposing looks have opened up a new (additional) clientele for Porsche

Enjoy the car Jack you are a real enthusiast , it is not about money . Respect
I think .2’s will be available later in production run whether cancelled physical cars or maybe allocations. It’s been the case with 4RS, SRS and 3RS….I think it will be the same with the .2 GT3.
As has been said on here a lot of people who have the first gen just don’t see the value.

Maybe its the colour ?
I think the colour works with the silver wheels, it's funny, doom blue can look awful in certain lights and with certain accessories (such as black wheels in this case) but I think it'll work.
So 992.2 GT3 Manthey kit will be launched tomorrow… but unless you have/want a manual car… Will it probably be render redundant on arrival? With settling prices of 992 3RS… and the fact that the MR kit will be very expensive, have little value add come resale of a fully built car… certainly nowhere close to the outlay… a standard 992.1 3RS will still be the more cost effective and performant device if a trackday 911 is what you’re after? (More tyre, more df, more power).
In previous gen.. upto 991 the GT3 MR kit was a light touch and bridge the gap to 3RS or the kit came before the 3RS was launched.
But 992.1 3RS is such a big jump… no GT3 MR kit cant really breach it…
I'm sure that some 'driver will be able to put-in a 'Ring lap time that would suggest otherwise but ... the 992.1 GT3RS is already other-worldly fast particularly in brave and capable hands ... so the delta is surely becoming very modest for a high cost with massive additional depreciation ... and substantially less time to sort out any "problems" should they arise ...
I guess Manthey did this because they could and it will be very interesting to see what and how this is done ... an investment in bravery ??
I think the whole performance / cost delta is one of the issues facing Porsche.
We have come such a long way. I used to have a Carrera Sport Coupe 3.2 which I ran as a daily driver for 15 of the 20 years I owned it. It did 0-60 in ballpark 6 seconds. Quick car at the time. I now have a turbo s that does it in 2.3 secs or so. So the opportunity now for more power / performance etc is limited. They have also nailed going round corners fast as long as you are brave enough to let the aero do its job.
So the next car will always be newer but we seem to be pretty much out of road for them to be " better".
Certainly for road cars the level of performance offered is frankly insane. I love the power but a combination. Of the law / traffic and ability ( lack of ) mean that love affair can only be sustained for about 5 seconds !

I dont get your manual statement T?
I saw for the first time a full manthey rs for sale at stuttgart opc, with the silly roof vains and carbon back window etc,F its ugly and a joke for the road. Why have lovely mag lwt wheels and hide them behind the hideous wheel discs,if all this bolt on junk was so effective im sure the cup cars would run it surely.
Not that i am bias but the gt3 has the quality look, and as quick in standard form.
I totally agree Paul, I can't believe the price of the Manthey aero stuff. For my lowly 4RS it is £30k plus fitting. I know they work hard on aero, chassis dynamics and research but sky high margins......
Paul, I think Tyrone meant that the MR kit on a GT3 with manual box is the nearest any of us can get to a manual RS car these days. I look forward to seeing your £100k kit on your silver beast in the spring....Lol
Yes.. i was saying that 992.2 GT3 with full MR kit might probably be redundant unless you want ‘the best’ manual GT car for track - as a standard 992.1 3RS will be probably better value overall, and still much more effective on track anyway.
But we’ll see…

Thanks chaps
The rear end of this new manthey kit looks Fugly, and those dam wheel discs hiding loverly wheels.
2.5 secs out of 6 min what ever, means nowt on a road car, racing different story,i would and have done spent loads on improvements.
A normal circuit improvement looks slim for the crazy costs.
You wont see it on my car snowy

I completely agree with you ... I was almost going to comment on the £30k difference between a 718 Spyder and a 718 Spyder RS being a no-brainer ... it would be easy for it to be a no brainer in both directions
As for the massive speed, this is one of the things that has taken me outside of the Porsche brand ... what I have been looking for is the best feeling in a car. I know I keep harping on and I know it's a leap of faith .... but apart from trackdays if you ask me which car of this type I want to take out it is the Artura ... by a long way.
Yes I also have fun quirky things ... the 2.4S is one, a Clio V6 255, a '67 Mini Cooper S, a Twingo 133 Cup, the 944 Cup car .... they are all very different and are all reducing in value whilst costing a little ... and each of them is a good conversation when I go to anywhere car orientated.
And here is the BUT, what can you say about another 992 GT3RS with only limited usability other than on a track where it is exactly what Porsche wanted it to be, if almost uninsurable.
How much better has Manthey made it ? More in the hands of less experienced or brave drivers but that doesn't stop them crashing.
So where do Porsche go next ? An axial motor in a GT3 ? Will the re-gen be enough without the GTS / Turbo type turbochargers ? And then how much mass will that add ? And it's just another Porsche ...
