Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, One of my next projects with my C4S is to upgrade to a double din radio. I'm doing my research (there is a ton of posts!). i guess one of the big things to know right off the batt is if I have a fiber optic system (MOST) or analog. From what I have read so far my year (2003) is where the transition seems to happen. Does anyone know how I can confirm what system I have in the car? Any input greatly appreciated.

POST 3Original post

Of course you could just slide it out and confirm by looking at the back of the unit!

POST 4Original post

Yes, I probably deserved that. I couldn't find my VW radio release/removal tool last night. But found them this AM. Sure enough CR23. Thanks all. Now to research the MOST/ RCA converter adapter unit.

POST 9Original post

Those converters are only 2 channel, left/right. So you need to preset the front-rear with the original radio before removing it. If you later want to change the front/rear, you'll need to put the original radio back in.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
